Kentucky/Robert Morris earned a 1.2 rating on ESPN, higher than the First Four on TruTV.

And this is why the "Bigs" won't play the "Mids" at their "gyms "..... Bobby Mo running the show midway 1st 1/2
Exactly.

With this idea in mind: I'd love nothing more than if the NCAA adopted some sort of FA Cup style tournament. Not, mind you, a tournament to replace the NCAA tournament or the NIT, or even a post-season tournament, but some sort of single elimination tournament that took place throughout the course of the regular season where a field of the top 2 teams from each conference the year prior were entered into a random drawing and a home team and away team were chosen to play one another. It'll never happen, because there's too much money to be made by major teams insisting on playing at home and at neutral sites, but it would make for some great TV if teams like Kentucky had to play at Robert Morris type teams more frequently.

The NCAA wouldn't do this.  We all know it.  Unlike the FA, who actually cares about the competition as well as the money, the NCAA cares ONLY about the money.  Therefore they will never do anything that could jeopardize their cash cow schools in the "big" conferences.  It would make for much more exciting basketball in November and December if they would, but they won't.

Robert Morris played a great game. They spread the floor and made plays all night. They had the determined look on their faces and it was fun to watch. I almost bought some ducats from a broker for $100 each, but none of my chums wanted to go.
