My buddy and I love to give the real Guy all kinds of s*** for being on Akron's jock the entire season. He was so butt hurt after what Shaka and VCU did to them.

It s always something ....he was really behind Michigan when he kind of got all Akron on VCU. I tweeted him and he replied. ....it is kind of fun to jerk his chain on a regular basis

  1. PILE IT ON and keep those starters in -- right Shaka?!?

  2. He can take it, he is a big boy. Plays big boy hoops. I suspect he will not utter a word about it.

Didn't say he couldn't -- did I?

the Dir of Comm for the MAC is crying about Shaka running the score up? That's embarrassing and borderline unprofessional. Good response to that nonsense, borna.

Yeah, but I'd appreciate it if he rooted on the Jayhawks while not tweeting from a MAC sn.

I tweeted as such. Semi-surprised he didn't take more personal shots at me.

I would love to know what we're paying the guy and what his ROI is. The guy behaves like he's 13.

My favorite was the 2011 football season.  Apparently, he is some sort of relation to Ricky Stanzi. He would tweet on Saturday mornings, "Hey which MAC game you going to today"? So people would respond and inevitably ask him which one he was attending. He would reply, "None, I'm going to watch Iowa."

I would kill to have his job. There's so much potential with that medium and there's really no limit to what you could do. You would think the MAC would want someone young and WITHOUT as much experience so that they work to put their mark on something like that, not someone that treats avid fans of the conference with disrespect. At least that's how I justify it. He earned the parody account all on his own.

Well the problem is that he's not the only one in the MAC offices who doesn't have a clue.

But your overall point is a great one. Look at what the Cleveland Indians (an organization that takes a lot of shots from local fans... before this offseason's spending spree) have done. Their social media presence is one of the best things that they've got going from a PR standpoint. It's like Jeremy Guy's purpose is to make the fans of different teams like each other more because we have someone to band together against.

I would think that they would ask him to tweet personal stuff from a personal account that isn't associated with the MAC.  On the other hand, there are plenty of talking head dopes that behave in a similar manner on twitter as JGuy does.  Seth Davis comes to mind.

That ought to be a fireable offense for a PR guy. What a joke it is that he still has a job.

The Brooklyn Nets had the best twitter account in sports until they decided to stop letting it be awesome.

Living in Brooklyn requires quitting cool activities before everyone adopts them and makes them oh so passe.

There is a VERY big difference between a journalist and a someone running PR for an organization.

JGuy had (still may have) a personal account.

We should all respond to his non-MAC tweets (especially the Rock Chalk Jayhawk ones), with a #MACtion reply.  Maybe it will remind him what his job is.

he's got a private twitter account but its protected.  Still, he uses his work account to #humblebrag about personal stuff. Bush league.
