Its funny how different two teammates, who have played together for four years can react to big news.

I won't post it here, but see for yourself.

Is it weird that I just assume he types tweets on his phone while fading away in order to make it as difficult for himself as possible?

Per Ivo - I just hope he extends his "avoiding contact" to OHIO from here on out..............

Now officially near the top of my all-time list of "Glad to see them go"..............

Everybody's entitled to their opinion, but this is really disappointing.  So maybe his inability to man-up on the court was his homophobia at work.

I was shocked when I read the original tweet and the justification.

In this day and age if you think it ...that is one thing....to put it out there for consumption is a bit insane.

then justifying the tweet by calling anyone who does not stand up for what they believe hypocritical is not going to win you much support.

I too, am dissapointed.....but after 4 years....am not at all surprised.

I logged on and the vulture count was 182, I hope this isn't why.

what a terribly disappointing comment by a Bobcat I used to root for. no more.

It truly was stinging to see his tweet, after 4 years of supporting him through thick and thin. I've never said a bad word about Ivo.

I quoted the tweet to my partner, and ask him to guess which bobcat tweeted it. He said, "I really don't want this to be true, but I think it was probably Ivo." Sadly, he was right.

Ivo certainly has a right to his opinion. I hope someday he sees it differently. I was cleaning out a drawer today and found a poster of Ivo. While I love keeping bobcat memorabilia, I don't think I can keep it. I don't think it is worthy of rememberance.

I was pretty much off the Ivo train about midway during last season.

Guy was clueless on the court.

Who can forget the famous semi-fast break (against 'kron in the finals I think) in which he didn't get to the three point line, didn't run to the rim--no, he went straight ahead down by the side of the key (where guys line up to rebound freethrows) and put up a fadeaway 10-footer while unguarded.

He hurt us last year.

It's sad when someone tries to justify the wholesale discrimination of an entire group of people.

It's downright ignorant when that same person belongs to a group of people who had to flee their homeland because of wholesale discrimination against them.

I've been following the news coverage of the firing of the gay phys ed teacher at Bishop Watterson in Columbus, and I believe that some of the folks truly believe that being gay is a sin.  But I think too many use religion as a cover for their bigotry.  I'm not familiar which his religious beliefs, so I don't know which is the case for Ivo.

But I'm not sure where "ethics" fits into his position; seems to me ethics would dictate treating everyone equally, which means gays should have the same rights as straights.

If you condemn homosexuality as a sin because of religious beliefs, I don't agree with your opinion, but I understand and respect it. What Ivo said is just ignorant.

Everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs, but to call gay rights "nonsense" is crossing the line to bigotry.

Ivo's taken more of a finger-wagging tone on social media this year. A little bit ago, he basically called out all of OU by saying people were partying every weekend when they had nothing to celebrate. That one stuck in my mind.

Actually - nuthin' "funny" here at all. One "opinion" is a downright disgraceful public statement from a Bobcat. Maybe that's why the "Arghcats" handle - which is somewhat "humorous"...........

Dude is in danger of becoming a verb, describing doing something not marked by intelligence.

'He Ivo'd--describing such as no free throws, no offensive rebounds, fadeaways & three-pointers for no points, plus defending on a screen too far from the hoop such that the oppo ends up with a lay-up.    Or to someone who turns in poor product at work for failing to follow instructions..instead insisting on doing it his or her way, it could be said:  'You really ivo'd that one.'

Now that "Is" humorous - and relevant. I just tonight accused my 15 yr old son of "Ivo'ing" a shot in the drive way hoop - a turn around fade that did not even hit iron..............
