After reading the article in his local paper this kid is still growing. He grew 12 inches in a few short years. He could be a 7' by the time he enrolls on campus. Now all he will need to do is put some weight on, like 50 lbs.
Talent wise it appears that he is just now coming into his own which is great for us. These bigger schools probably didn't even have him on their radar since he didn't start playing until 2 years ago.
If he continues to develope like he has this past year we could have a real gem.

JC and staff deserve major kudos for this.  Just hoping we keep him.

Interesting that McDavis was involved in the recruiting process. Is that a common thing?

He had offers from Miami (FL), Temple and Georgetown so he was on some people's radars.

I don't know but the president has resided over a period of more athletic success since Vernon Alden's time. The commitment starts at the top at Ohio with an athletic minded president and a quality AD.

As it stands right now without some major guard recruiting we have almost nothing in the back court for 2014 after being loaded for a few years. He's going to have to bring in at least 2 JUCO players in the backcourt I don't see anyway around it.

We will still have Stevie, Willis, and Wingfield.  I see no problem with adding 2 freshmen to that group in 2014.

We absolutely need guards in the 2014 class, but there is no dire need to bring in JUCO's there.  A JUCO would work, but our season doesn't hinge on it..

I was reading the Hoya board on Owens and one poster made it sound like he has a '14 guard teammate on his high school team who is highly thought of...

Also keep in mind we have Kadeem's scholarship open. It would not shock me if JC brought in a transfer guard there like he did Willis who would sit out this season and be ready to go for 2014. If that is the case, I'd imagine we hear something soon

Tariq was upgraded to a four star in today's update on scout.com.  Number 86 overall in the country.

Dr McDavis has been huge with the recruits on official visits. His presence in the locker room is also of note. At most major programs the Pres makes an appearance for high profile guys and their parents on official visits. Not so much for campus tours and unofficials....but parents are always impressed when the Prez makes an appearance. Dr MCDavis is one who seems always to be present and involved on the hoops side. Don't know much about the other sports in that regard.

So we will have 3 top 100 recruits on the team at the same time?

Yes, also Willis and Adams.

Plus Ndour who wasn't really considered for top 100 lists because he was a JC player but got offers similar to top 100 players.

I believe Mr. McDavis attends every home football and basketball games. Solich already does a fantastic job recruiting for football, but were making fantastic strides in basketball and McDavis is a huge influence upon this.

But after a single season, it was clear that JC can't get it done at OHIO, and he should have been fired as soon as he stepped off the plane from Denver.

I've seen him and/or his wife at quite a few volleyball matches.  What folks forget is that there are only 24 hours in a day and he can't be everywhere everyday.
