Ohio plays in a Holiday Tournament and it sacrifices home games. That is all there is to it. If you want to do something for the fans a 1 for 1 series with Dayton would be a start instead of Heidelberg.

I thought I read on here that Dayton wasn't willing to do a 1 for 1 series with us.

Nonsense by Dayton. Ohio's been to the NCAA's 13 times. Dayton has been there 14. Both schools 4 times in the last 20 years. UD Arena seats 13,435. The Convo seats 13,080. Largest arenas in their respective leagues. Most A10 schools will play Ohio 1 for 1 so there is no excuse.

In the last 3 years Dayton has gotten home-and-homes with Alabama, Ole Miss, and USC. They don't need us. The only MAC school they have done a home-and-home with recently is Miami.

What Dayton has is a much larger gate receipt. They can buy bigger home games and/or afford to forego body-bag games without a return.

They'd be a decent opponent to bring in.  But let's not fix on them--gotta be another 35-80 schools of their caliber within a day's travel.

How liberally do you want to define day's travel? 12 hours one way? I guess Dayton can control its schedule with the home rake and don't need little old Ohio. JC was saying after one of the games that he's looking to play schools that either will be in the NCAA tournament or contending for it. Is that enough competition to run through the non-conference 9-3 every year and go undefeated in conference play for a single digit seed? It might just work.
