My ESPN app said this was a road game for us. I was about to rant that we have no business playing such a team on the road. Glad it was a home game.

Very pleased with today's game. We had more turnovers than we ought to, but otherwise, there was a lot to like. We offset our mistakes on offense by coming up with lots of steals and blocked shots. I really liked the minutes from Tony Campbell, digging deep position and getting some hook shots over their 7-footer. He had plenty of rebounds, too.

On to the big one.

Is anyone else feeling like we're going to start seeing more Bean Willis and less Stevie Taylor real soon?

I hope not.  The offense runs much better with Stevie in the game.  I think Bean's role should be scorer off of the bench.  There were several times on Saturday that people were wide open on the other side of the court and the ball did not get reversed with Bean in the game.

I'm glad JC is striving to get two legitimate PG options, but out of the six games I've seen this year, Stevie is clearly the better option. I didn't watch the Alabama A&M game, but I don't think we can gauge much from a lopsided game against a team like that. From what I've seen, the team runs more smoothly with Stevie at the point, and Stevie makes better decisions on both sides of the floor. I'd love to see Bean elevate his play in time for the conference slate. Maybe this game against an overmatched opponent was just what he needed to gain confidence.

I was very pleased to see Campbell carve out low post position on their big and score at the rim.  He's a big body and if he can pin a guy that low on the block and score, could provide some good minutes this season.  I was a little disappointed not to see Mompremier get in the game, but Campbell had some good minutes.

Sorry to take this on a tangent, but I would like to thank the Marketing Department for the Rufus Kids Club activities for this game.  Getting to form the tunnel for both football and basketball was a great experience for OUr son.  Not sure if other Universities offer that kind of access to kids, but we love it.  Also, Rufus was great on Saturday.  Not only did OUr son get to interact with him three times, but he came up to our section to meet and greet the people that were there from Logan and Perry County, which made their day.
