You haven't seen Akron play  this year, then.

We can't worry about Akron's pg's, we need ours to play to their potential.

+1

It hasn't been good.
Nobody drives and dishes.
Hall actually did it better than anyone today.

Bean has had some real issues. He seems real choppy & uncomfortable on defense. Sometimes I've noticed that his base seems too wide when guarding the ball handler. He's shown some flashes on offensive although TOs are a problem.

Stevie has had his struggles offensively but he's able to play smooth/consistent defense and get some steals.

I agree. This is about what I expected to see from Stevie coming into the year though.

Hughes and Cunningham both had 4 fouls and Stevie shoots a 3 without using clock while we had the lead. Not the right shot at that time.  JC jet him have it.  Have to know when a shot is the right one.

Stevie has double-digit field goal attempts four times this season. We've lost three of those games.

Bean has struggled but I think Stevie has played pretty well. If he can just get some shots to fall he'll be fine

Stevie did hit that big three ball today. He had zero turnovers which is job one as the point.  Bobcats are very unselfish . I would expect Stevie to pickup the scoring in conference play as teams try to take away Kellogg and Ndour. Were are going to need Stevie and Bean to hit some shots now and then.

I'd say it would be nice defensively if our PGs could keep players in front of them.  I noticed one of them guarding from the side while the opponent PG drives the lane.  This is happening way too much.  Just stay in front of somebody and move your feet, please.

Stevie does a much better job of making the pass that leads to the pass.  His shot is bit a mess right now.  He's a lot like Walter Offut in the fact that he can't go straight up or slightly back.  It seems like the only ones he hits are when his body trajectory is going slightly towards the hoop.   But the offense just seems to run so much smoother when he's in there.

Stevie played nine mins in the first half and we scored 31.  He played 17 mins in the second half and we scored 48.  Coincidence?

Russ mentioned that Bean is the only player on the team who's not sure of his role.

The real turning point in today's game was when we started playing Rowsey tight.  He hit 5-6 FGs in the first half (3-5 threes) but only 2-11 in the 2nd half (1-8 threes).

Bean is painful for me to watch. He had a few plays again today that were head scratchers. He had an obvious travel at midcourt late in the game when OU was up by 3, but he got bailed out by the official that let it go. Wilkins ended up making two FTs right after the to put us up by 5. That should've been a costly turnover. A college PG just simply should never dribble across midcourt and pick up his dribble. The team has a diffent energy level when Stevie is running the point. He has his faults, but I feel more comfortable when 22 is on the floor.

Bean reminds me of some point guards from Ohlone College. He plays more like he wants to be a 2-guard. Not good.

I'm hoping the 2014 recruiting class has a point guard in the mix, in addtion to a 2 guard.  I like getting the 6'9" guys, but it seems JC is heavy on these kind of guys and a bit slow on the guard recruits, though I see Crute listed as a 6'4" shooting guard for next year..

ive see. crute listed as both a PG and SG depending on the site.  I remembered a quote when he committed about his perceived role next year, and Google, helped me find it. (Although I'm sure it's on the recruiting board somewhere too.)

[quote]Crute liked the style of play that Ohio set forth and how they plan on utilizing Crute’s skill set, “they play an up tempo type of game. They are going to have me look to score, they’ll need me to score. I will come in with a chance to work and play early, do what they need.”[\quote]

This is the weakest link in our team right now. If the guys can't shoot straight then they better play great D and hold their opponent below their scoring average.

Was that the Euro double dribble travel  step jump stop that ended up being an assist to the corner?
