Jimmy definitely got things adjusted so far in the second half. That is called good coaching and he is one of the best.

This was looking like an "O'Shea" for a while, but Jimmy won't wait until after the game to adjust. Ndour, Hall and Willis have come to play in half 2.

Not to make excuses, but it has to be tough to get fired up to play in front of a crowd that is 1/10 of what they're used to playing in front of. They need to get used to it on the road though.

If that is true, it speaks quite poorly for the character of our side.  I sure hope that it's not true.

We played well for some minutes of the 2nd half--espec at the start.  But don't underestimate how bad NIU played.

[It's this:  Oh, this will catch flack..but creaming UMass or EMU in football does not mean validate the quality of our football play.]

NIU is definitely not a good team.  They show a lot of energy but not a lot of teamwork going on there and they don't have deep depth.  That said, even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while, and if we hadn't come alive in the second half we'd be looking at 2-2.  The poor first half vs BSU I attributed to Akron hangover.  This makes two in a row, so that's troublesome.

Another good outing from Campbell.  He's starting to show some maturity that few freshman have.

No complaints outside of starting a little slow. a wins a win. Teams often play down to the quality of opponents in all sports and this is no exception. Can't get to frustrated, it happens.

+1 Campbell is looking like he's a potential star.

I made the trek up to DeKalb tonight. The crowd was larger than I thought it would be, but with the whole second level retracted it might have been decieving. Sitting behind the bench gives me a new appreciation for Coach Christian. He seems perpetually perturbed, but gets his point across very well. (I mentioned this in the chat at halftime, but during our lack luster first half, he just looked at the bench and said "Come on guys can we please stop doing stupid [crap]"). I also have to say this team seems to pick eachother up well. Seemed like we were getting pushed around on the glass early, and then some clicked and we got tougher. Bean really showed some flashes tonight.

He always seems to have this "WTF?!?" look on his face. Just his general sideline demeanor is to be perturbed. It's strange, but it's his thing.

This game went a lot like our last game at NIU. Ugly first half, followed by a locker room adjustment and a second half blowout.

NIU's largest home crowd of the season at 1600. Jeebus.

Wow, that's sad. Anyone at the game care to weigh in on the atmosphere? It seemed dismal on the video feed. No life.

I didn't see the game tonight, but looking at the box score how did we only score 65 on 52% shooting and 53% from 3 point?  Maybe only 7 FT attempts and 6 offensive boards has something to do with it.

Mr Kellogg 4 of 5 from 3 and how bout Bean 3 of 6?  Not bad for a previously 25% shooter.  And Antonio 6 board and 6 points in just 8 minutes?  Damn.

Only 58 possessions. We were very efficient in the second half.

I have not heard any Bobcat say anything like that.....they play the same whether it is a pick up game in the park or in NCAA tourney game. Nerves and being amped up is more of a negative in front of a big crowd than an empty gym is. In front of a small crowd they seem to focus better on the task at hand. Less distractions.

Sadly, I can say I have talked to players of major teams that have painted a very different story of entitlement and lack of focus.....one specifically following a loss north of Pittsburgh recently. Tough way for a senior to go out....

I went in with the expectation it was going to be like our last trip to EMU. It was much better than that. The fans were into it in the first half. The students they did have were also pretty loud. It kinda reminded me of a high school game. With the second level (anything above row L I think) of seats pushed back it reminded me a bigger nicer JAR, right down to the track. They also had a bouncy house and basket set up for the kids to play with before the game. I'm sure honoring the football team at half time, and having the whole football team attend, certainly helped the 1600+ number. Given what they have been drawing this was definitely a step in the right direction. Now they just have to keep it up.

I also heard that they told students that arrived closer to the game that because they sold out of general admission tickets they couldn't get in for free. I can't imagine turning away students, especially when there were a lot of empty seats.

I literally laughed out loud when their announcer talked about them having one of their better crowds for the game.  Pretty sad.
