That was a game I won't forget anytime soon. It was easily my favorite and most memorable game in the Convo, knocking off (sorry, Borna) the OU-Miami game several years ago when Freeman won it at the buzzer with a deep three. Toledo is a very good team, but defense is not something they seem to care about too much. Offensively they are loaded with weapons, and Juice was on fire in the second half. Everyone in the Convo knew what was coming and nobody could stop it. I think there's a good chance we see this team a third time in the MAC tourney, and if future games are anything like this one, they should be great contests.
No need to apologize. That was one of the hardest fought MAC games I remember in my viewing life.
Not sure why folks feel the need to apologize...has happened a few times this year..... Tommy told me 3 years ago DJ AND Nick would break his record and he encouraged them and gave insight into shooting along the way. I am glad the guys are going beyond where this program has been. That is the idea when a program is moving forward.
If this continues to happen then I am going to be really happy because that means the program is moving to whare we hoped it would go.....Domination of the MAC and yearly tourney appearances. The next level, higher expectations and more quality wins. Imagine if the hoops team had the same success as the Volleyball team......IF anyone remembers the threads from the pre crash BA regarding expectations..... any one remember a thread called "Culture change"?
That was important to Rhodes when he was recruiting and then when Groce came in that was the idea that propelled the program to where it is today.....my worst nightmare is that what was built and the standards of excellence and expectations do not continue forward or backslide. I will be very sad. I know things run in cycles but I refuse to believe that this cycle for OHIO basketball is anywhere near complete. I am happy for NIck, I am happy that a new memory has been made for even one fan. I hope that we continue to push the record book and the program forward. My respect for Jamerson did not diminish when his record was broken. No apologies necessary.
