Joe, it was weird.  Kent State had a lot of success against Toledo driving to the bucket, but then all of a sudden the Flashes grew timid when crunch time arrived.  Just dribbled and passed it around the perimeter and threw up bad shots.  Cost them the game.

I saw the same thing, but couldn't tell if Toledo was doing some things differently defensively to take away attacking the basket or if Kent State just went away from what was working.

As I said a couple games ago, why did we give Setty a scholarship?

Some first half!  Toledo with 29 pts with 10 to go so they were on pace to go over 100!  Then they go cold, Stevie and Nick go off and you end the half with a slight lead!  A few bad turnovers but other than that, a very exciting game to watch.

Campbell the new OHIO quarterback--best long pass off the season in either sport.  Hitting a streaking teammate with the bomb over the top of the defender and dropping it softly in to Stevie for an easy 2!!

Really weak effort at rebounding by TJ--a senior and still watching shots from the other side instead of putting your backside on a sure Rocket crashing to the opposite block?

If Mo, keeps developing--wow.
Campbell...spacetaker, he's gonna make a big,big mark before he's done.
Wilkins hustle and passing today.
Stevie hustling and hitting
Nick hitting and passing.
Everyone who got in contributed today.

JC switch to zone after rocket built 10 point lead on layins and tip ins and started hitting 3balls was key--stopped their penetration when we didn't have to worry about our guards getting beat...let guards tighten up on the ball.  Wonder why we went away from it at the end?

I felt one key to the win was none of our bigs got into foul trouble today which has not been the norm. Excellent output from all today!

Tremendous game.  They had no answer for Mo. Stevie playing aggressively makes us much tougher to defend than when he's not.  Toledo has so many scorers it's tough to guard them consistently but they are extremely soft on defense and we took advantage of it.  Mo off the floor for a stretch in each half and the Rockets went on big runs both times.  His ability to alter shots really hampered the Rockets.  Juice Brown is fun to watch.  He nearly put the Rockets on his shoulders and carried them to victory.  Good showing for the MAC today.

The engagement and hustle and no-quit that this team shows...Makes me wonder what last year would've been like if those traits had then obtained.

I'm betting today is something of a 'legacy' game.  People are going to talk about this one for a long time....Remember the Toledo game?...Were you there?....

I dunno about Monroe's statement that this a legacy game, but I will repeat what I said in another thread.  This is a team that for the last several weeks has shown uncommon toughness.

Just finished watching the game for the second time. At least as good if not better than the first time! I am saving this recording. Love watching OHIO play, but so much better when they play like this! Go Bobcats!

Fantastic afternoon in the Convo all the way around. Excellent game, honoring the golden anniversary of the Elite 8 team, there was even a marriage proposal! I wondered aloud where that promotion was going and then the groom popped out the box.I hope a replay of that made it on to the broadcast.

For as much as they've been dogged around here lately, I thought the O Zone was very, very good today. Not the absolute best I've ever seen, but today was a game where you guys had to show up, and you delivered. Bring that energy and more next week.

Embarrassing number for a game of this magnitude. Please don't give me the rest of the MAC excuse.

Meh, Toledo doesn't have the name recognition that Akron or Miami have. I would say the actual attendance was probably around 8500. I too thought there might have been more, but the atmosphere was still livewire.

I know for a fact cancelled events through the week being rescheduled for today hurt attendance.

I'll take a rabid 9K over the passive parent's weekend sellout every time.

I expected the tickets sold number to be higher than 9k considering it was a 1 PM Saturday game against a great opponent but I can't complain with how great the atmosphere was and how loud/into the game the fans that were there were.

I agree with Monroe that this could be a "legacy" game that hooked a lot of fans. Very exciting game and also Mr NDour is getting to the point where he is going to start really picking up recognition and perking the interest of casual fans...

Also noteworthy... Next weekend is sibs weekend and Miami. I expect that number to be a couple thousand higher than today.

Yup, O Zone had its best game of the season thus far. Got crazy loud during the pinnacle moments. And pretty quiet at times (start of 2nd half, especially).

Agree that the crowd was probably 8,500. While that might not look as aesthetically pleasing as nearly 9k does, it was a rowdy crowd. The environment was all you could ask for in a college basketball setting. Amazing day at the Convo.

I actually think the Akron game last year (on a Wednesday) was more of a legacy game. Crazy O Zone. 2 MAC juggernauts. Year after Sweet Sixteen. Cooper, Keely, & Offutt. Obviously an amazing game with improbable plays (Smith's finish, Coop's long 3 before halftime).
