I feel as though the ohio university bobcat games are recapped, and then recapped again, then recapped again and again ....
I feel as though this is a bit redundant .. I enjoy highlights .. is it for the fans or for the broadcaster ?
it's almost as though the broadcaster wants to hear himself speak ....if that is the case he could purchase a dictaphone and this could be done on his own time.
the entire miami game was recapped on the radio show tonight .... I was at the game along w/ 10,000 others, the game was on the radio and on time warner 311 and espn3 .... do we need a recap ? ..
I TUNED IN TO HEAR WHAT COACH CHRISTIAN AND HIS TEAM HAD TO SAY !!
should i now recap what i've stated above ? .... ok quickly i will say "what's w/ all the recaps?"
Do you think Russ talks because he like the sound of his own voice? Do you think this weekly radio talk show is all his idea? Its his JOB. Both JC and Frank have media responsibilities explicitly spelled out in their contracts with large chunks of money attached to it so they can't wiggle out of doing it without taking a pay cut. a weekly coaches show is explicitly spelled out as a requirement. All parties are there because their employer insists they be there.
When a radio show is scheduled for 1 hour that means there needs to be sounds coming through the radio for the entire hour. You say you would rather hear JC talk more. Who wouldn't? But have you ever heard JC, or Frank for that matter, actually speak? They approach an interview with an openness and candidness of an enemy combatant under interrogation. My guess is Russ does the recaps and such because he can't fill a full hour otherwise. To paraphrase Lloyd Benson- "I knew Charlie Coles, I listened to Charlie Coles, Charlie Coles was a favorite of mine. Jim Christian is no Charlie Coles."
Complaining about media saturation is really grasping for straws, isn't it?
