Yeah, yeah, that's what I meant... I was saying that if Javon McCrea were to be
inspired
by Mitchell Watt, he is capable of doing that to us on any given day. That's all I was saying.
LOL, well played.

I'm guessing a lot of those "other" votes are for Ndour too
I know with absolute certainty that at least 1 is.
Make that 2
3 atleast
4
What's nice about this is it also makes Elton look like a doofus when other has the most (or second most as it stands now) votes because he didn't suggest the right guys as potential POTY contenders.

^This.
To top it off he adds Tava as a "wild card capable of drawing some votes" when Mo, at the very least, has to be much closer to a player fitting this description because IMHO he totally belongs in the conversation. It seems like Elton is more interested in mentioning as many schools as possible and not the players deserving of the recognition. Somehow Mo is still flying under the radar.

If Mo doesn't get Newcomer of the Year the voters should be sent to work in the MEAC. Nick should be First Team and Player of the Year consideration but let's face it, he and Mo are so equal stat-wise that they take away from one another. I like Felder from Miami and Karrington Ward from Eastern as well. Heck, Majok Majok averages a double-double and Holmes from BGSucks is having a decent year as well. This is the most quality players we've had in the league in a while. I would take a MAC starting five and put them against a Major Conference starting 5 for sure.
FIRST TEAM ALL MAC
Nick Kellogg
Javon McCrea
Demetrius Treadwell
David Brown
Juice Brown
SECOND TEAM ALL MAC
Shayne Whittington
Rian Pearson
Maurice Ndour
Karrington Ward
Will Felder
THIRD TEAM ALL MAC
Rishaun Holmes
Quincy Diggs
Majok Majok
Kent guy (either Brewer or Goodson)
Justin Drummond (maybe but DUI might keep it away from him)
NEWCOMER: Maurice Ndour
PLAYER OF YEAR: Javon McCrea and Demetrius Treadwell CO!
COACH OF THE YEAR: Tough one. I can't stand Hawkins but he's doing a great job. JC is doing it without four starters and RICO. I give it to JC but I'm sure Kowalczyk or Hawkins get it.

My POTY is Juice Brown.
COTY goes to Kowalczyk. That could change if WMU can actually beat a good team on the road. They've got some quality wins (Toledo, Ohio, Akron) but those were all at home and the two good teams they played on the road (EMU, Buffalo) absolutely spanked them. I might even put Hawkins fourth right now behind Christian and Hurley (right now Bobby is whining about this ranking).

This all supports my theory that Elton Alexander is a professional troll as opposed to a journalist. Instead of writing what he believes, he writes what will create controversy to draw increased eyeballs. By excluding NDour, Elton draws extra views from people arguing that Ndour got snubbed. If he just listed Ndour to start, maybe people don't bother visiting his article since there is nothing new to them...
I maintain that he is one of the best in the business at this style.

Isn't the official award still Freshman of the Year? Newcomer of the Year was something MAC Report Online did.

Nick deserves the recognition. Having a very fine year from start to finish. And, as Elvis points out, he's really developed his game from spot shooter to full offensive arsenal and carry-the-weight leader.

After tonight I wonder - can the award go to an entire team? Like can go to "CO-MVP's". WMU keeps playing like this and it would need to be considered.
