Glad to see him speak so highly of Nick.  I still think McCrea wins the POY going away.

Mentions Nick with his 15.3 scoring avg., but no mention of Maurice N'Dour with his 15.3 scoring avg and 3 MAC East POW honors??

Interesting that Nick is a run away leader in votes.  Goes to show you how many OU alums are in Cleveland.

True that there are quite a few OU alums in Cleveland, but I don't think they restrict the voting to Clevelanders. My guess is that  a lot of people on bobcatattack.com have voted in that poll. We just follow our teams and players more than a lot of other fans do.

"......going away". I take that at least to some significant degree as meaning what happens the last 6 regular season games. YTBD. Especially if opponents collapse and force him to the FT line.

Kellogg was probably mentioned over Ndour because of his position. Mo's numbers are good but not as good as Tree and Javon.

Kellogg is 7-1 vs McCrea, winning matters and the Bulls don't win big games. That being said I fully expect JM to win it.

Kellogg and Ndour have to step up even more through end of season - And we have seen them both do just that. We have more threats - that plays into their hands per POY votes. And wins Do matter. So we win out at good rate - and beefs get tipped while McCrea has to struggle..............he's no lock.

If Bramos can win MAC POY for Miami, then McCrae can win it for Buffalo. It's almost guaranteed.

I'll agree with "almost". Season "almost" over - still not a lock.

But there is a strong chance both Nick and Maurice crack 1st team all-MAC, which is pretty cool.  And Jon Smith has to be in the running for defensive POY, right?

With such a tight race at the top of the league, there are basically 5 spots for 6 guys...

G-J Brown Toledo
G-D Brown WMU (not as much hype but they are tied for 1st and he is averaging 18.4 per game)
G-Kellogg Ohio
F-NDour Ohio
F-Treadwell Akron
F-Mccrea Buffalo

I have kinda assumed either Nick or Ndour get left out. 2 Ohio guys when there are so many teams up top seems like a stretch. The other factor is Toledo... Juice has been great, but Rian Pearson is basically averaging the same and he has been known in the league longer. If it comes down to Ndour and Nick, Nick is the Senior but NDour has been more high profile this year... Kinda the same with Pearson and Juice... One is a Senior and the other has been more talked about this year...

Lot on the line the next three weeks - for lotta players and teams. This MAC season ending stretch has more potential variables than I can remember in a while.

I'm guessing a lot of those "other" votes are for Ndour too

If we had someone putting up McCrea's numbers we'd be royally ticked off if he didn't win POY.

While NDour has saved our bacon this year, he's going to have a hard time making first team with guys with similar numbers and more history.
Next year could be another story.
He should have a good chance for newcomer of the year.

That is true but I can't help thinking every time that we play them that he should be better than he is.  Maybe it's just because he's never had one of "those" games against us that I can remember.  But he seems to disappear for long stretches against us and how many games do you remember him "taking over" in Cleveland?  Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player and possibly the best in the MAC but I remember seeing him as a freshman and thinking he's going to be an absolute beast as a Senior.

"Those" games? Do you remember what he did to us in the MAC tournament in our Sweet 16 season? He single-handedly kept the Bulls within striking distance and gave the Bulls a chance in the end. He absolutely shredded us.

It was Mitchell Watt and he was an absolute beast in that game.   McCrea's best game against us was his very first one and it was the only game they have won against us in his career.  And even that one will be more remembered as the game that Zach Filzen went off for 20 in the second half to erase an 18 point halftime deficit.  Since then we are 7-0 against the Beefs.

Yeah, yeah, that's what I meant... I was saying that if Javon McCrea were to be inspired by Mitchell Watt, he is capable of doing that to us on any given day. That's all I was saying.
