If we lose this game...we lost it with Boals sitting Reef and Captain Chaos for the last 10 minutes. I understand being careful with one of them as each had two fouls, but in a game against the league's best team...you can't sit both guys for 10 minutes and think The Whiz and Cornish are going to hold steady.

Too many forced minutes for Cornish. Insane lineup on the floor last five minutes. Cost us terribly.

Aidan's travel with 0.1 would have been a good window to do it.

I said “if” we lose this game. If these guys get two fouls in the first half in Cleveland, Boals can’t force minutes with The Whiz and Ike.

Hell of a damn win. This season could go down as Boals greatest coaching job ever. To do this without AJ Brown, Elmore being non-existent and no big man is amazing. And if Ohio finishes 3rd, you can make a strong case for Boals to be coach of the year in MAC.

That was so stupid even Groce was pissed. Him and Boals had already shaken hands by the time the ref called a travel.

So, did we win this game because of Boals? He managed the bench well protected against fouls when he could.

Again, I mentioned foul trouble. I understand the protection, but I felt he could have at least kept one of them out there. The game got away from us in the last five minutes of the half, but yes, it worked out perfectly. As I said, Boals should be right there for coach of the year in MAC if we can finish out these last three games strong.

Boals played JP 38 mins per game. He rode guys. Now he is balancing guys to a baffling extent. Ajay and Ike are clearly not ready for this game. EJ4 seems ready. Go with a 7 man rotation with Wiz also this half. Kron's bench play is better.
JP was an NBA draft pick. Of course you ride that horse! There is NO JP on this team.

A question for offical scorers/refs out there. With Ali Ali Ali at the line, Wiz subbed in for Hadaway for rebounding. Ali made the free throw and Hadaway subbed back in for Wiz with no time off the clock. I thought this wasn't allowed. Time had to come off the clock before you could sub back in. Has this changed?
College yes, NFHS no.

There is no JP but tell me Jaylin Hunter isn't an Alpha who needs 36 to 38 mins per game!

You also have to consider who was backing up JP (Sears one year) v. who is backing up the top players on this team who, with more minutes, might improve our chances of winning tight games.

Well one finished with 4 fouls and made big plays down the stretch. You pick up 3 early you may not see much 2nd half. Zero problem with that. The game is a marathon, not a sprint!

Ok, I’ll tell you, he does t have to and he is not getting the 36-38 min a game. I mean, ain’t one person here thought this team would be 3rd seed at the new year. And yet, you say the staff ain’t got a clue. Got ya! That’s why you are going to work and clocking in tomorrow and not breaking down film and writing practice plans.

I understand that as well. Next time, we might not be so fortunate. Tonight it worked out beautifully and I’m one happy Bobcat.

The season two years ago was an exception, where OU started 22-4 and then faded down the stretch. But otherwise? Boals knows how to get a team playing its best ball in March. Another really impressive coaching job this season.

Go Cats!

The Wiz is unplayable as usual.
Didn't you really mean Sheldon?

Boals went with the right guys down the stretch--at this point, I think OUr five are better than Zips five! Tribble is a handful though.

So exciting to sit under the Zips basket and watch the boys play defense.

Key to the game: finally getting some offensive rebounds.

Winning Team Losing Team was done by the 110 before the .1 travel call, but it was so loud in the Roundhouse that you couldn't hear it, even in the lower bowl. I only know it happened because of the pointing at the benches, I think there was maybe 14 seconds left.

Sorry the crowd wasn't audible on the broadcast, it was electric the last ten minutes after Jaylin's 10-0 personal run to tie at 50, with, I should note, Wiz on the floor the entire time. Well, it was less than 2 minutes but it turned the game and the crowd got crazy and you could see Groce and Dustin think oh no, I've been here before too many times on the other side of this.

They kept it going when the OZone failed. We can't fault them too much. I think this has to fall on the Ozone leader and he needs to put a lot of thought into when it is acceptable to do it. It shouldn't be a different person every game.

Plus when a guy on the other team fouls out, everybody needs to give him the "walk of shame" cheer back to the bench...

Kind of my thought. I think it was closer to 15 but what's half a decade?

TVS has always had a hard-on when it comes to OHIO. See him all over the MAC...but he saves his best for Ohio
