Can somebody please explain to me why The Whiz was in the game from the seven minute mark to the four minute mark and Clayton was on the bench? WTF. And of course, Akron extends the lead over this time to double-digits.

partially due to Clayton getting the ball stripped in embarrassing fashion

Not Wiz's fault they extended the lead. We give them wide open threes.

Strong defensive effort tonight. Kept it a lot closer than I thought after the abysmal start. It’s tough to string together runs with whatever our offense is. Especially against top teams like Akron.

Whiz, rebound the ball. You are 6 foot 11. How can you be inside and not get the rebound? And don’t tell me he pushed off. Jump get your hands up and rebound the ball.
Simply horrible tonight and the amount of minutes Boals gave The Whiz in the second half is criminal. Love Reghi spot on destroying him for passing the ball 4 feet away from the basket with a 6 foot guy guarding him in the paint.

Reghi and the other guy become increasingly pro-Akron as the game goes along. Sickening. I've hit the mute button and am listening to Russ and Rob.

Sheldon, Jaylin, and Miles had more rebounds than Clayton and Wiz combined.
Reef had more rebounds than Clayton, Wiz, and Hadaway combined.
This is so much of what’s wrong with our roster build.

If groce is at Akron and boals is at Ohio, and they continue to recruit the same kinds of players, we will never beat them.

Reghi is Akron's "home" announcer for espn+. They were fine. Akron's the team to beat in the conference and we can't score. Only so much talking you can do about Ohio this year. Game effort defensively, except for a couple open 3s. we kept fighting, but never could string any real run together.

I think we will find that threes where the difference in this game. They hit them. We didn’t. I continue to say we leave too many three-point shooters, wide-open while guarding the lane. Stupid defensive philosophy nowadays in my opinion

If you haven't yet noticed, on this board, everything is Whiz's fault to some. Showing their basketball knowledge.

Plenty of blame to go around, but The Whiz on the floor consistently hurts you then helps you. It’s 4 against 5 when Ohio has the ball.

Just home from the game and listened to the Akron post game on the radio.
Groce said the game was physical, too physical that it was like an NFL playoff game and Groce did not like it. Said Freeman went to the line a lot in the second half and probably should have had 10 more attempts!
I don't get it? Zip jumps out of bounds, over the chairs and Zips have four on the floor and the ref stops play? That is bullshit--let the Zips call a time out if they want five on five.
And I don't get Boals. Ike has half of OHIO's points at the 2nd media timeout and he never once sees the court again while Hadaway on offense is a ZERO.
As for the rebounding, Gabe and Clayton box their guy out and the guards come back to rebound--it has got to be planned that way and worked well. While Zips caught up, OHIO had a big lead in offensive rebounds for a while.
Too many unforced turnovers and not finishing at the hoop as stated earlier. Missed about 8 layups.
Didn't think it was a very numerous crowd and not as many Bobcats in the stands either.

+100
And the humorous thing is that these same posters expected nothing from Wiz this year. But for them it's easier to blame him than the guys who were expected to win 20 games or whatever.
PS Did you mean to say above "showing their LACK of basketball knowledge"?
