Holding for a three pointer was inexcusable.

Going to be tough to win games in March when you don't have a true point guard getting all the minutes.

3-4 in the MAC at home. And I wouldn't say there's any guarantee we win Saturday.

Actually 4-4 now.  But yeah, I'm shocked by it.  This team has had better success on the road and based on the history of the program since I've been following it, it is puzzling.

Yeah, you have to go back, like, three years for the last time this happened!

Ohio was 5-3 at home in the MAC 3 years ago...and 4-4 on the road.  Please tell me the last time Ohio had a better road record than home record in the MAC, wise guy.

You're responding to anyone who thinks the amount of home losses is abnormal with a snarky "well actually no it's not abnormal."  And I was the only one to bring up historical context, everyone else just said unacceptable which doesn't warrant the snark about it not being uncommon.

Point is, The Convo is no longer a safe haven for us. Hasn't been in a while.

Wrong.  This year is hugely abnormal.

2014 - Home 4-4, Away 5-2
2013 - Home 7-1, Away 7-1
2012 - Home 8-0, Away 3-5
2011 - Home 5-3, Away 4-4
2010 - Home 5-3, Away 2-6
2009 - Home 6-2, Away 1-7
2008 - Home 7-1, Away 2-6
2007 - Home 6-2, Away 3-5
2006 - Home 7-2, Away 3-6
2005 - Home 8-1, Away 3-6

Total - Home 63-19, Away 33-48

If we took care of MAC business at home this would be a great regular season.

How did we do in the postseason three years ago?

All that matters now is getting beating out Akron for that four.

early losses to BG and Akron at home were key, should have won both.

But on the flip side, how many home games did we pull out of our rear end this year too? CMU, Miami, etc.

home/away, this game/that game, doesn't matter how we got here, but we're 9-6 and that sounds about right.

CMU and Miami both stink this year. As awkward as it is to say this, Buffalo doesn't. That's the difference, perimeterpost

Miami started 1 - 7 They're 10 - 8 since. They did something we can't do .. they swept BG. They played WMU to a 1 point loss. They gave us all we could handle. If they stink then what about us? WMU hammered us twice. BG beat us in the Convo. We'll be hard pressed to win in Oxford, in part due to injuries.

Very correct.  If anyone isn't worried about that game at redhawk, then they aren't dealing with reality.

doesn't matter. We were down 18 to CMU, we could have EASILY lost that game. The point is we won some games we could have lost and we lost some games we could have won.

Uh, didn't I hear Miami beat Akron tonight?

There are seriously NO gimmes in the MAC this year!

Even Balls and NIU were respectable tonight, i think I heard...

We are starting to get burned by falling behind by huge amounts early but then again it is fun when we come back. It seems like we are a great team for 8-12 minutes a game, and a complete terd sandwich for 10-15 minutes a game. We shouldn't have these huge of swings at home.

Frankly I'm amazed we have won as many as we have with the obvious flaws this team has.  It's been both a fun and frustrating year but I'm excited about the future.  We've lost two players we couldn't afford to lose and yet we compete every single night.

Or at least the last 14 minutes of every night.  Frankly, I'm getting tired of investing 6 hours of windshield time to watch a team that plays lethargically for 25-30 minutes.  If they can't find the motivation to play hard from the opening tip at home, I'd rather stay off the road and check in via the web.  That's a shame.

It could be worse.  You could be "forced" to watch NIU, CMU, or Miami play basketball over the last few years.

I'm with OUVan -- they're fun to watch.  Really fun.  For me it's because of the way they grit out games against better teams.  Let's be honest -- without Ric and a healthy Taylor & N'Dour, the gap in talent is pretty big some nights, yet they're in nearly every game to the end.  Save the Western game, and every home game this year has been a thrill a minute.  I'd like to ahve seen a couple blowouts for the sake of avoiding heart stoppages, but it's been a fun year despite the 5 home losses.  I'm just crossing fingers for the top-4 seed.  The extra days to heal could be big for some guys.
