I'm going out on limb:

We will be very, very good next season.
Win the East for sure.  Haven't seen enough of the West to know the teams but I'm putting us regular and tourney favorites.

Want to see the defense ratchet up.

Need to find a way for Mo Nature Boy to play against the best talent--pro or college--in the summer.  He's got to be used to the best competition and have the goal of being one of the top players in the nation, not just one of the best in the MAC.  From a close-up of Mo at the foul line today, he seems 15 lbs heavier.  I hope so.  Every lb he gains is to the good.

Campbell already has his inner Leon.  Want to see him keep dedicating and have next year the sculpted body that DeVaughn brought to his senior year.  He can be the best bigmanz we've had since GT.

Setty.  Keep developing.  Fine hustle and moves with a purpose.  I don't know much at all about the newbies but if they are what have been hinted at, we are in good shape.

Guard...Stevie and Bean know what needs to be done.  Nick will be missed bigtime.  Can we find a shooter or two and some height at guard.  Would love to have a lockdown defender in the backcourt, someone teams fear.

Defense.

It's not a lock but the pieces are there for the coming season.

I agree Bean is coming out of his shell and Stevie shows a lot of potential. against OSU he shows spurts of greatness. He just needs to be more consistent. MO is top notch. Setty and Campbell are both proving to be good players as well. The big ? is at the 2/3 spot. If the guys coming in can be average/above average we're going to roll over people.

And I can see D.J. making an impact..he's a 6-5 wing, can't hurt. Toss in the experience of Nehemias Morillo and Rodell Wiggington and 2 very solid freshmen. We still have another scholly. Would love to see another Juco or a transfer.
Next year:
EAST
Buffs: Lose McCrea which will kill guys like Regan who can't play without him
Kron: Still no PG, will rely on two shooters with Johnson and Forsythe
Kent: They will be the leaders entering the season..have all the pieces..just need a new coach
BG: Clarke is back
Miami: Lose Felder, nuff said

WEST
Western: Will be solid with Tava but will MISS Brown and Whittington
Toledo: Man oh man are they stacked with Juice, Weatherspoon, Drummond, Boothe, both Williamses, Lauf, Garber
Balls, Central, Eastern, NIU: Worthless

If Treadwell graduates this year, he retains another year of eligibility.

Abreu will be back next year for Akron.  Count on it.

Too early to think about this now.

Focus on the MAC tourney.

Focus Danielson.

Toledo is going to be scary. They added a Mississippi State transfer, 6'5 PG Dre Applewhite,  who will be eligible to play next season in December, at the end of fall semester, as a redshirt sophomore. So they may be even better next year.

Aaahhh...The standard "next year is our year" thread.  Life on this board is never boring .

That being said, I do agree that next year will be awesome, not because it's our year or anything like that.  Because the year after that will be even better.  The pieces mentioned above are developing and a huge piece (Tariq) is coming in and will (hopefully) develop.  The pieces that will follow will hopefully be of the same mold.  Next year will be fantastic because it will finally be the start of what's to come.

*Note, if this has already been stated it's because I only read the original post and went from there*

But lose Rian Pearson.

It looks like we are short on #2's next year.  With Nick and Travis gone, it will be up to Kendall to pick up most of the minutes.  I would like to see JC use the last scholly on a JUCO SG.  Someone who will be ready to play right away and give Kendall time to develop.

The way I see it next year...

PG - Taylor - Willis
SG - Wingfield - Morillo/Crute
SF - Wiggington - Harley
PF - Ndour - Setty/Owens
C - Campbell - Mompremier

I guess I don't know enough about how Wingfield, Harley and the Juco's will play but its just a guess. Hopefully Owens will get a good amount of PT.

If I were to suggest using a last scholly on a player, it would be a transfer type of kid who would sit out next year that can play both the 1 and the 2.

The last scholarship is going to a PG.  JC wants someone learning the system next year who can then step in the following year.  You never want to enter a season without a PG with some experience in your system leading your squad

I've got nothing. The earlier post implied that he had heard it from the coach himself and I just wanted to confirm. Sounds like truth to me.

Abreu has a year of eligibility left.  Have him come in, learn the system and then take over for a year.

Can someone explain this?  I thought he was a senior this season, no redshirt?

If he graduates this year, then he could play anywhere next season, correct?

I'd love to see some healthy stevie running the point with Bean playing at the 2 guard spot some. I think if he puts in the work in the offseason, Bean looks like he could have a decently high 3 point percentage

Treadwell and Harney were both academically ineligible their first year.  If they graduate in 4 years then they can play one more year.  I guess this makes sense academically and is an incentive to work hard on grades.
