Thrilled for Coach Kuwik...

I do hope he has the chance to be a head coach if he so chooses. And it would be awesome if it was in Athens.

I'll sleep good for a month knowing they went out to an in-state team.

You can sleep well for like 15 years since it'll take that long for them to schedule another in state school

Is Dayton the first Ohio team to beat O$U in b-ball since we did it in '94?

I was thinking that a "TOS to O$U" thread would be coming.  The natives are restless in Cowtown tonight.

Ohio State lost @ Toledo in 1998 by 1 point.  I can't remember if it was OSU players/coaches or just their fans, but they complained after the game about how it wasn't fair to play on the road against in-state schools as it would be their opponents biggest game of the year, etc.  I think there was something about Toledo having indoor fireworks for their player intros which delayed the start of the game due to smoke needing to clear out.  Of course that delay took OSU out of their game mindset and helped lead to their L.

This thread is hilarious.

Yes it is.  Always good to see the team that refuses to play in-state teams get their due.  Happens here when a Davidson beats a triangle team, or East Carolina takes out UNC in football.  Way to go Dayton.

I also think it is great that the Tournament Committee set up these type of games in the brackets.

This year's bracket has a ton of those. UK/UL rematch, NC/NC Central, St Joes/Nova,  George Washington/UVA, WIch ST/K State, Creighton/Nebraska.. ...all regional match ups that usually don t get played..cept for UL /UK which no fans down there really want to do twice a year.

There seem to be more of those in the brackets than I can ever remember.

Classic!

I bet things aren't so rosy in NC right now, either...
