There's no true bracket for this tournament so it is unlikely that Ohio would play Akron early in this tourney.

We could play Wright State in the next round - and kick their butts!

Cleveland State won't be easy. The Bobcats certainly have lost to much worse teams.

Teams reasonably close to Ohio that also are a part of the tournament include Wright State, Valparaiso and IPFW. Second-round games are Friday and Saturday. Quarterfinals are between March 25-27. Semifinals on April 1 and finals April 3.

Is there literally no set bracket to the tournament?  So they get 16 winners and then pair those up however they see fit?  Are any of the games along the way at a neutral site?  How are home teams determined?  Do you like questions?

There is literally no set bracket to this tournament. I'm not sure how that arrange the matchups after the first round, but they do

CSU played five MAC teams this season and went 2-3 in those games. Won against Ball State and at Kent State. Lost at EMU and Toledo and at home against Akron. They were 4-0 against Oakland and Valpo this year.

I'm pretty sure you can just keep buying home games if you're so inclined. I think they also try to keep opponents fairly close to one another to keep travel costs down.

Check out the 'guide'. It says they arrange the opponents geographically for future rounds to keep missed school time to a minimum. Handy for those that actually want to attend games also.

This should be a home and home series each year, so glad this is the draw.  Hopefully some folks will get their heads out of their butts and make this a yearly event.  Close travel, nice gym, good recruits in NE Ohio, and good alumni base to maybe attend a game.  Maybe we should have agreed to play at CSU considering our home results.

This should be a very good game. Some extra rest for the injured should bode well for us.

A mid-major tourney for sure. Would have been nice to see a major conference team or two, but we're still playing anyway. How many will show up for this game?

I believe this tournament is only for "mid-majors." The CBI invites "majors," but not the CIT.

Correct. But it seems a lot of the power teams think they're took good for the CBI; only three power teams are in that field.

You know, after I write this I realized that I probably should let this sleeping dog lie. There's no question that just because a team is in a major conference they can still be lousy of course.
Let's hope for a good game or games from our guys.

This is a good game on the name and nearness of CSU alone (irrespective of the quality of the players on each side).

Yeah, gotta think a week off is very beneficial to our health after four games in six days with the number and nature of injuries we carried in that stretch.

Yes, as someone speculated a day or three ago, another match vs. 'kron this season would be good.

GO BOBCATS.  LET'S HOPE THIS TEAM KEEPS UP THE SOLID TEAM PLAY THAT WE'VE SEEN THIS YEAR AND THAT THE FANS GIVE THE 'CATS THEIR DESERVED SUPPORT.
