Sounds like we're getting the Murray State vs Omaha winner. I expect Murray to handle Omaha easily. Omaha barely beat anyone good all year and just barely has an over .500 record. Murray State is a solid team and playing at home against Omaha.
Seems to make sense, but if it were that simple, it would seem like they'd announce that. I wonder if it's still to be determined based on who wins and who wants home games. I think we're the top seed left so I think we'll be at home as long as we're in it and want to be at home, which it seems we do.
VMI hosted this past round and Towson was on the road. Obviously, Ohio wants to host and apparently so does Murray State. I wonder if Murray State wins if it will get to host a game rather than VMI since VMI's RPI is near the bottom of teams left.
If so, that would leave the scenario of, with a Murray State loss, Ohio hosting Nebraska-Omaha and VMI hosting Towson or if Murray State wins, then Murray State and Ohio would be hosts of VMI and Towson. Ohio isn't really a far trip for either Towson (5 1/2 hours) or VMI (just over 4 hours). Murray State is a longer trip for both (about 9 hours to VMI and almost 12 hours to Towson). It's over 7 hours from Ohio to Murray State.
Then again, maybe the tournament just is just trying to avoid announcing anything before they are sure so as to not make a mistake like last time. But I did find a Tweet that says Murray State's AD says the last talks he had with the CIT was about hosting the quarters if they win, so maybe there is something to my theory?
