Did we?

Freeman: 24 points, 21 rebounds

Our Center: 1-5 from 3. 3 rebounds.

Only shot inside the 3-point line came on a fast break.

I hate to tell you, but we gave up at least 20 points by driving into the lane and having blocked shots. Freeman himself blocked eight I believe. Good guards drive into the lane and dish the ball out periodically at least.
The game has become one of three-point shots. They won it by making a lot more than we did.

The momentum swing at the 5 minute mark hurt us. Akron was in the bonus, we got panicky and chucked some 3’s. Should have just kept drawing contact to continue to get Tribble, Ali, etc. to foul out and stack points.

Fun stretch run to end the season, I really thought we were about to pull this off after Ali got his 4th.

Disappointing game for AJC. Should have kept working Wiz in tbh, he played well.

The 3 fifth-year seniors left everything on the floor.

But we're at an obvious disadvantage going all those minutes with three 6-footers on the court against Akron and 6-9 Hunter, 6-8 Ali Ali Ali and Freeman, who plays much taller than his 6-7, with the other two starters at 6-3.

If that game didn’t expose the power forward/big man problem we lacked all year, then I’m not sure what will. Would have loved to seen a Myles Foster or Jaylen Carey go up against Freeman.

Boals got the most out of this short team he could get. Hit the portal on March 18th and pay the $$$$ for a big. We can’t go through this ever again. We were ranked 344th this year in team height in all of division-one. And people wonder why I banged the Bahamas Ezuma drum all year. Boals believing he could contribute this year and then Bahamas exiting stage left is the difference between MAC Finals and MAC Semis. The wasted big man schollie crushed us all year.

I had a bad feeling about the 1-&-1's that we missed the front ends of.

Like "are we going to lose by 2 or 3 points because we didn't make these?"

Oh well.

Bobcats not named Jaylin Hunter were 2-15 from three. We were 13-15 at the line and had their three most important players in foul trouble.

Because we were shooting so well from 3 tonight, and in Cleveland in general.

Our best offense came from dribble penetration.

This is what happens when you have negative contributions from the post.

Let AJ Clayton play shooting guard next year for all I care. We need 3 new bigs who can contribute.

Last time I look, I don’t think any of their big fouled out. I realize we got a lot of points in the lane but we weren’t gonna win the game there. Even though they were bigger than us, they didn’t win the game in the lane they won by hitting three-point shots. We just didn’t hit three-point shots

I believe we played them three games this year. They scored 67, 67, and 65. The one game that we scored 74 or so we beat them. That was because we hit threes. The other two games we lost because we didn’t hit threes.

Yes. That doesn't mean we played well or played pretty. But we left it on the floor and had a shot to tie a game that looked like was going to get away from us with four minutes to go. Akron's reaction at the buzzer wasn't a typical "we're in the finals!" celebration.

Clayton's disappearance and the lack of balanced officiating on Freeman was deadly. Even with that, the guys made a heck of a game if it.

I wish a little of BVP post work would show up in Clayton. We can’t keep having him live and die by the 3.

If you're saying poor outside shooting sunk us, that's a legit argument. But we couldn't keep chucking; it was clear we weren't going to get it going there.

AJC was unplayable. Go back to my messages in November. He might have an alergy to paint, cause he avoids it like its a life or death scenario.

Wiz should've been face-guarding Freeman all night. What's the worst that could've happened? Freeman have a 20-20-10 game or something?

Groce> Boals, second half a proving ground of that tonight.
Akron has far better athletes than Ohio. Better all over depth and talent. With NIL I don’t see this changing in the near future. We will continue to lose players to the SEC .

Grace made a major league adjustment at halftime. What had been a slug it out half court game in the first half, he turned into a track meet coming out of the locker room. Great move on his behalf. With the three senior guards leaving, I have no clue what next year will bring.

Also would like to point out that everyone from Boals first recruiting class is now gone. Definitely gonna miss Miles. Great defender and solid scorer.

JSF… absolutely, I have said this game has become a three-point shooting game. If you can’t hit them you’re going to lose. The two games we lost to Akron. We didn’t hit them the one game we beat Akron we made them. Also, I get going into the lane but our 6 foot guards had at least 10 or more shots blocked in the lane. That is just as bad as going to for 13 from three. They just can’t go in against big good big guys and expected score every time.

Boals just confirmed we are not considering the CBI or CIT. Season over.

I also think he said Cornish hurt his wrist in the first half.
