Oh you're gonna get some people angry by alleging allegiance to columbus by some OHIO people.

No; remain at emotional extremes re SP. Do not calm down.

You want good hoops.  Watch San Antonio.

Beside calling travelling, change this in hoops:  After a made hoop, let the team what was scored on take it out from the net without having to go back out of bounds beyond the end line.  Easier ignite to fast break.  More action.

Is this what you talked to your neighbor about?

Doubt it...those fences are pretty high in Cali. My fam out there knows not their neighbors.

I played high school football for Grandview Heights and Mr. High School Sports Larry Larson in the late 1970s. Grandview, which is land locked and has been for over a century, was and always will be a small-school division team.

When I played we competed with schools from Dublin, Marysville, Olentangy, Hilliard and others. These suburbs had one high school back then about the size of Grandview Heights. Today, all of the above (except for Marysville) have 3 large-school division high schools.

I have two dogs.

Sometimes I ride a bicycle.

Last week, I conversation with one of the neighbors and watched some tv.

From my memory Oxnard seems like a typical laid back southern California town, I suppose you could get away with some of those comments there, but in the working class town where I grew up, let's just say you wouldn't do it again.

Ran into Saul a week or so ago at Baker. Great guy. Genuinely cared about asking me questions about myself and OU. Seems like an exceptional salesperson and I think he will sell the crap out of OU and Athens to recruits, which is exciting.

With the recruits bailing, we 're about to see how good a recruiter Saul is. Apparently not good enough to keep JC's recruits, but I'm not blaming him for that.

A release from the LOI doesn't necessarily mean they won't end up at Ohio.

Good chance they won't be in Athens and that is fine. Finally we can move forward from the JC era.

I'm not worried about this at all.  They may still come...but if not...this staff will find guys who want to play for Ohio.

To quote Schembechler:  Ohio men will play for Ohio.

I guess that's a possibility Jeff, but highly unlikely they have OHIO in any of their plans at this late date.

Even if they do have Ohio in their plans, I wouldn't want them.  Can't trust them.  They'll probably jump at the first opportunity to move on to something "better" (in their minds, anyway).

Whatever that means. I like the hire and we'll see what he can do. If you want to speculate, there's a lot of time between now and November to have at it.

Not sure about this, but I think he's got you confused with another poster who was into conspiracy theories about jet contrails.

Contrails: "A visible trail of streaks of condensed water vapor or ice crystals sometimes forming in the wake of an aircraft."

Anyone else think that having the 3 players released from their LOIs is the best thing for SP? He basically has 2 years now where any underperformance is the fault of his predecessor's inability/refusal to stock young talent and last-minute defections from his predecessor's recruits.

I'm not saying we would be firing SP 2 years into his tenure even if he kept the class together and still didn't win the MAC........but there would be grumblings.

Good point and I agree-at a minimum it gives him an out for at least a year, if not longer.

If we don't get at least a couple of Saul's guys to sign up during the late period I will be shocked and disappointed. He'll probably go the four year frosh route but I really think sometimes you gotta get the right jr college guy or transfer.  Especially since we need some wing players really bad!

the nearly $1m buyout is a two way street, we're not getting rid of anybody after 2 years at that price. With that said, I don't expect any issues. Saul has to balance building long term with not giving up on his seniors who deserve a competitive roster next year.
