The more I read about this guy the more I think he'd be a perfect fit for Ohio and Athens. He'd have a good time with the O-zone.

I would give Phillips a slight edge over Kelsey based on experience as a head coach (Phillips 7yrs vs Kelsey 2yrs) and NCAA tournament experience (Phillips 1-2, Kelsey 0-0). Confident Schaus will make the right call.

I really don't know anything about Saul, but if he can recruit players to N. Dakota, he will have no trouble getting them to Athens.

Just watched the recap of the Bison win over the other OU in the first round of this year's tourney.  It was quite impressive.  A guy with a recent NCAA win sounds OK, in my book.

Will be interesting to see the BA reaction to this vs the JC announcement................

I was lukewarm to to the JC announcement - but grew to like him. There was of course a LOT of hesitancy and dissatisfaction when he was announced.

I am truly excited about this!

Good to see this type of stuff on the Bisons forum after the news broke:

Saul Phillips is a great coach, much better person though!

WOW!

We have a coach! Everyone sounds positive about this so far. From the couple things I know about Saul, he sounds great.

Will have to dig deeper as the days go on....but my first impression is to trust Schaus.
