Same rules apply as on the football board.  We only want to consider one quote at a time.  Anyone can submit a quote.  Please do NOT use a search engine to get the answer.

First quote:

"God does not give a damn about sports."

OK Shabamon, you have to go with one guess.  Narrow it down.

Shabamon, no dice...so by the process of elimination, it's the General, Robert Montgomery Knight.

Here's the next one:

Any sentence with the word "phlange" in it.  Who was known for using that word?

I'll play. The last great Bobcat play-by-play man, Dick Schorr.

Which local TV guy mispronounces Creighton (kree ton) and Duquesne (doo kez née)?

Hint: he's an expert on anything o$u but is quite ignorant on any athlete/team outside the I-270 outerbelt.

Ineligible to answer (because I've mentioned this to him previously): SBH.

Here's one:  "Victor Russell, get off my bus."

I expect only BobcatSquared and ccCat to get this one.

Danny Née as the team bus was being loaded at the convo at 6:00 am. This after Vic yelled at the team for poor play the previous night. With the exception of john devereaux who played well

well here's the best quote I ever heard and I'll ruin the contest by giving you who said it (you'd never guess anyway).  Our old coach at Charles F. Brush High School in Lyndhurst in the late 60s' and early 70's, Bob Knuth,  came up with this one...

"There's nothing certain in this game except the National Anthem, and they even blew that at Shaker Heights..."

Similar to that bruce, my old coach used to have a great one for our rival Sandy Valley.

"We beat them in everything. We beat them in football, basketball, baseball, shuffleboard and tiddly winks. There is no way that Sandy Valley can beat us."

I guess the basketball quote thread is open, right? So here is my favorite.
Whos said, "he went from being the worse shot in the East, to the best shot in the West", and who was he talking about?

Great one, Gov.  At first glance, I have no clue.  It'll be interesting to think about this one and try to figure it out.

My guess would be maybe Wilt was the subject and hmmmm Fred Shauz was the author......just wild guesses though

Sorry Born, but that is not correct. A hint, you are on the right track, a NBA coach about a NBA player.

AHhahah

Given that they are the only league with east and west divisions I felt confident I would be in the ballpark LOL.  Got it narrowed to a coach and a player now although the player is a given. This feels oddly like my logic class taught by Brother Bernie.

Player is not as easy as you might think. HINT: Player was the first to do something in the NBA. Someone guessed Wilt a little while ago - and that is wrong.

How about Red Auerbach talking about George Mikan?
