Think there's panic here, how about in Memphis after they lost their exhibition to Christian Brothers University?

What was even worse in the good old volunteer state? (at least CBU is NCAA D-2 and supposed to be pretty decent on that level)... MTSU spent 12 million to renovate their arena and to celebrate the grand re-opening - they lose to a school from the NAIA with an enrollment of approximately 4% their size. A school so tiny that they could have put that college's entire student body in MTSU's gym ten times over and maybe had space left over.

Now THAT was really bad.

Wow. How did MTSU come up with $12 million? We can't raise that....

OT... Christian Brothers University's mascot is a Buccaneer... Seems like an odd pairing, no?
Hah! That's pretty funny.
Pretty sure Christian Brothers is Catholic. Catholic schools seem much more open to kick ass mascots than other religious schools.

Middle just spent 147 million on the new science building, so 12 million for a make-over on an arena that only cost them 6 million to build in the 1970's probably seems like a bargain.

I heard their coach was ready to peal the paint when they lost that game. Pastner at Memphis likewise threw Kedren Johnson (a highly touted transfer Memphis just got) directly under the bus on twitter over their loss. The kid did turn it over six times against a D-2 team.

Pastner isn't on twitter.

Whoever said it or tweeted it, it ended up on twitter.

THIS:
Pastner: "Kedren Johnson was not good whatsoever."

Which in turn resulted in various "Pastner was not good whatsoever" tweets and the like from Memphis Tigers fans. At least the Grizz had an interesting buzzer-beater win tonight to turn the attention away from the Tigers pre-season choke.

not to digress and turn this conversation off on another tangent but didn't Ku (wick) start his coaching career at Christian Brothers?

Let me see if I read the recap correctly. New-improved Saul-Ball trailed a D-3 team by 14 in a basketball game?

What is going to happen when they play teams like Belmont?
Belmont 70
Wright State 73

During NCAA football playoff race madness in the south, the SEC loses four opening night basketball games. Only VCU big over ut was expected. Three were upsets and two of those were BIG upsets. As soon as the Alabama - Miss.St. football game kicks off today, that will all go quickly to the back burner.
