I am overly concerned about the number of eligible players.
At the current time we have 8 and waiting for 1 to clear and 1 to get healthy.
This basically means the starters will be playing big minutes which is not what you want at this point in the season. Any kind of foul trouble issues and we are in trouble.
We are at a disadvantage in every game because of this. Most teams play 8-10 guys regularly. I would expect coach to have a plan B and add in some walk-ons. You need to have at least 10 guys to play 5 on 5 in practice.
This issue along with all the new players will make the challenges for a good season more difficult to over come.
GO BOBCATS
we have 16 players on the roster, at least 14, maybe 15 will be eligible for the season. The one player with an injury has recovered and is cleared to practice, the one player waiting on transcripts will be cleared any day now. The sky is not falling.
I guess 71 didn't realize that Plan B was Saul's Plan A? We already have four walk-ons and all of those transfers who aren't eligible to play are eligible to practice.
We could play 5v5v5 right now. I am GLAD we have the early stretch of OOC games to get our inexperienced newcomers time and to develop a rotation. That'll prepare us for MAC play, and while we go through these early games trying to develop new guys we still have a great core of 3 seniors in Ndour, Stevie and Bean to lean on.
There are some very low expectations around here for the level of talent we return. The sky is not falling.
