UNC Greensboro won at Arkansas last night. GW looks like it’ll be 4-0 when we play them. UIC beat Loyola earlier this week. Middle Tennessee has beaten NKU and Stephen F. Austin. Delaware is 3-0. The Nassau field isn’t looking too shabby now.

Not only does EMU beat Cleveland St in Ypsilanti, but Eagles' forward Billingsley makes ESPN Top 10 Plays (#2) with a dunk.

Kent lost to Missouri State 56-52 in the Paradise Jam. The surprise isn't so much that they lost, but that they kept it that close when you consider the shooting of their guards in a 3-guard starting lineup.

Santiago, Bass and Sullinger combined to hit 1 of 18 (5.5%) from 3 and 6 of 32 (19%) overall. Santiago, who led the MAC 3 years ago with 44.7% 3-pt shooting is 2 of 21 (9.5%) this year. To borrow another BA poster's frequent request: Make it make sense. I'm thinking it must be because Sendy is trying to make a shooting guard his point guard with the loss of Sincere Carry.

Zippy loses to Utah State and will play Drake in the losers bracket.

I don't get why these destination mini tournaments are popular with a total of 12 fans in the stands? Wouldn't it be easier and more exciting and cheaper and just as beneficial to development to have a few AD's call there buddies and meet in say, Philadelphia and play on a neutral court and include a Temple, Drexel, St. Joe etc?

Buffalo is one of the worst teams in the country. They defeated a local D2 school in their exhibition by four and had 28 turnovers in a 89-83 win against Roberts Wesleyan, another D2 school.

Their losses are:

92-86 against (310) Farleigh Dickinson
70-55 against (176) South Alabama which had lost to NAIA school in prior contest
102-68 against (115) Hofstra on neutral court
68-60 against (150) Louisiana on neutral court
89-64 against (167) Iona on neutral court.

UB is down to 333 in KenPom. Their guard play is atrocious. KenPom projects them to go 6-24 (4-14). There's a very good chance they'll start 1-10 with their remaining non-conference schedule before Niagara.

At this point top MAC teams are as expected with Toledo, Akron, Ohio, Kent all looking capable of winning the league ... yet all with their particular warts.

Most 'complete' looking team at this point seems to be NIU with its main Achilles being not familiar with grinding out an 18-game MAC sked for a title. We'll know more in the next few games (DePaul, Northwestern, Indiana State).

Also, their best player in injured and has yet to play a game this season.

I’ve not watched many basketball games yet, since the regular football season is still in full swing, but I did watch NIU in one of the Sunbelt challenge games (App State) and they looked very good to me.

You're going to have to add NIU to the list of MAC favorites this year and guard David Coit might be the league POY througb the first couple of weeks. Coach Burno has athletes, length, depth, shooters and guys that are playing hard. The Huskies are still playing without the leading scorer from last year, Keshawn Williams.

Coit scores 34, 20 after halftime, in 89-79 win at DePaul.

I watched the two semifinal games of the Nassau last night. This field was more impressive than I think a lot of us thought. UNCG is legit, but UIC owned GW from start to finish and ended up winning by 10. Now 5-1.

Delaware played UNCG tough, but the latter was too much. Bummer we couldn’t get a shot at UNCG or UIC. All said, can’t pay attention to the brand name on the jersey in this era.

I’m going to pump the breaks on NIU. Beating DePaul isn’t much of feat. I live in Chicago and that program as never not been horrendous in my 8 years here. It lost to IPFW and has one win this season against South Dakota.

Would love it if NIU ends up being legit come time we play it in Dekalb, though. Saturday game and making the trip.

Delaware was up 13 at half and leading most of the game too. This will be a tough one.

Delaware at home on a Saturday should be a rock solid college basketball game. Team deserves a hearty crowd.

On the women's side, 0-5 Xavier vs 0-3 Miami might set a record for traveling violations.

On Monday night, NIU falls 89-67 at Northwestern.

NIU had the lead at halftime, 42-41 and got drilled in the 2nd half.

Wonder if NW switched to a zone in the second half. That gave them fits in the App State game. They still won but for about half the second half it gave them fits and App State narrowed the lead substantially.

Feel bad for the kid, but talk about a cautionary tale for portal jumpers.

He could be a starter (maybe not and thats why he left) on a Top 25 team, instead he's just a student at Akron.

On that note, Reggie Bass is really struggling lately.

Since that big game vs JMU, he's averaging 7.2 points. Shooting 36% this season. 28% from 3. Only played 16 mins last night vs College of Charleston.
