Incredible. Looks like will be a few days before we start to at least see rumours about what it is, how long to expect suspension to be effective, etc.

Betcha a dollar to a donut he'll be back on the team before the MAC games begin. This is the annual spectacle of Treadwell.

The only difference is that the university has issued this suspension, not Lord Dambrot.

Reporting this on twitter will be hampered by the fact that it uses almost 20% of available space to write Demetrius Treadwell.

Akron fans are telling themselves its because Akron holds its student athletes to a higher standard than other schools and that's why you hear about their players getting suspended more often. One fan likened the Zips to BYU in that regard. Seriously.

Meanwhile Ohio just suspended two players for committing the unforgivable crime of playing basketball in the summer.

It really is humorous they think they are running some squeaky clean program. I mean, come on, Dambrot has consistently recruited guys who end up with criminal records by the time they leave Akron. The only program in the MAC with a recent history of recruiting more convicts is Kent.

Do you mean the program that left the door open for the possible return of a player that was caught trafficking in drugs? I can't tell Akron and BYU apart either.

Pretty big smack against BYU. I mean, BYU has actually won an NCAA tournament game.

Treadwell is a sad example of wasted potential. No matter how this ugly story ends up, he will always be one of the biggest wastes of talent I've seen in the MAC. If he really applied himself and stayed out of trouble he could have been a special player. You could see glimpses of it when he turned it on, but he spent a lot of time pouting on the floor and plenty of time causing issues off of it.

And one of the top women's players in the MAC.
