1 Treg rebound away from 3 double doubles!

Well, that is basically what I called for in the GW thread...clearly the coach read my message to the team. Maurice/Tony/Treg hitting the paint and mostly forgetting the outside shot, R Taylor with the mid-range jumper, Bean draining 3s and Stevie greatly reducing his 3 attempts. Let's do more of that.

Wow! Only one game but this is more what I expected. Based on what I read here and the final score, I did not watch yesterday's game. I was off work today and sat down with no idea of what to expect. Today's performance was encouraging. Very cool.

We need to convince all our opponents to play defense like DePaul does. That being said hopefully this is a springboard game.

The lineup was completely different, no Mompremier and very little Stevie Taylor. They need to stick with that lineup if they can play basically with 7 players. Every time Stevie Taylor got the ball I looked for a turnover and fortunately he didn't play much.

This. I just wonder if they could hold up with 6 guys getting most of the minutes. Willis, R. Taylor, Laster, Campbell, and Ndour, & Setty our playing better than the rest of the team. I like Stevie Taylor the kid and he once looked like a pretty good player. He definitely contributed to a Sweet 16 team as a Freshman. I don't know what happened. I hate to say this about one OUr own but they seem to do much better with both Freshman on the court.

Is there anywhere to look at a +/- on the year?

I think its a function of having 2 of the last 3 recruiting classes blown up and a new coach scrambling to fill the holes. This team just doesn't have any depth.

That sure was fun to watch. The video highlights should get the Jim Ross treatment.

Khari Harley missed the two Hawaii games with back spasms. He was really coming into his own. Hope he gets healthy soon.

For some of you who say this was what you were expecting of this team before the season started...are you serious? You thought a dominant performance over a power conference team would be the norm?

That was an amazing afternoon of hoops. Terrible effort from Depaul & a fiery performance from our guys. Needed this one so badly.

Grab a W next time out and this trip is looking real nice.

I was the only person in my family that did not go to OSU. My girlfriend (now wife of thirteen years) use to drag me to tthe Saturday morning basketball games and now I am a lifetime Bobcat sports fan. I have dreams of beating the Buckeyes in football and basketball.

Solid win today.

Is this a chronic condition with Harley? His health seems in question. I hope he gets better soon, too.

I realize Stevie has struggled mightily with the start of Saul ball. Don't know the reason why. But to discount his contributions last year is simply unfair. Stevie did not play his way out of the lineup last year, his leg injury took him out. He was way more than a "10" minute man last year as well. I'm stumped as to why he's so out of sync this year.

+1 Stevie is all OHIO all the time, and I won't give up on him as he never gives up on the team.

DePaul beat Stanford. Stanford just beat ninth-ranked Texas in Austin.

Nebraska had to go to OT to beat Loyola for a chance to take on the Bobcats. Huskers scored 14pts in the 2nd half, 15 in OT. It was 35-35 at the end of regulation, Nebraska was out rebounded 44-22 but 20 TOs by LM kept it close. Hope they stay cold and the Cats stay hot.

Absolutely! I don't know how you can be a fan of Ohio and not love Stevie! He may be going through a tough stretch, but I always appreciate his energy!

This team plays noticeably better when they don't play timid and just shoot whenever they are open. It sounds really simple, but that's basic basketball. If you're open, take the shot.

With that being said...DePaul's defense was horrid yesterday and Bean exploited it by getting into a good shooting rhythm early. That opened everything else up.

The failure to get of 100 points yesterday lies squarely on Drew Crabtree.

My disappointment knows no holiday.

Agreed! And that energy is why I believe his best role has always been to be the first guard coming in off the bench.

How hard must it be being a DePaul fan. I have to assume that Oliver Purnell is gone after this year. As bad as we looked on Monday they looked worse yesterday. They've got no excuses though. This is year five under this regime meaning they should know what they are supposed to be doing on the court. I love Treg Setty but there is no excuse for him to be able to drive at will on their defense from the three point line.

I doubt we win this game. I will say if we shoot fewer than 20 3-point shots and hold DePaul to fewer than 65 points we have a chance.

The thing I would say about BB right now is: there is some talent there, even Saul says so. Are you negative nellies saying he can't id talent? More importantly, I think the Coach is trying to put a bunch of square pegs into round holes and it just ain't working (way too many 3s by guys who are not shooter/scorers, not enough assists, and on and on) YET.

It's early so I give the Coach a break. If he is here 10 years from now and has play like this, I doubt anyone cuts him any slack!

If the play in 10 years is like it has been this season, he will not be here in 10 years.

Bean is not afraid of shooting--that's funny.

Got me on that one Monroe. But we haven't been 3-5 in football lately have we?
