Yep. I thought after the DePaul win and the decent showing vs. Nebraska things might start to click. Nope. I'm fully prepared for it to be this time next year before we look like an Ohio basketball team.
The problem is that we didn't play with any higher basketball IQ against DePaul than we did anyone else. They put no pressure on Bean and broke out one of the laziest full court presses I've ever seen. If Bean continues to get 30+ minutes we aren't going to beat a single well coached team the rest of the year.

We're going to have one or two more games where we shoot really well and win while not doing anything different. Some people will be seduced into thinking the team is turning a corner. We'll know things are improving not by the scores and stats but by the way the play.

I wouldn't be absolutely shocked if one of those was tonight. Depends on whether Toledo decides to take a night off defensively. Of course, it's more likely that Juice Brown has a huge stat sheet stuffing night.

Agreed. I expect a loss but would not be surprised if we have a hot shooting night and Toledo isn't interested in fighting.

unfortunately I think both teams will remember last year's games- Stevie will shoot until he becomes a hero and Juice won't let it come down to 1 shot and OT again.

My hope is that a big crowd will show up and give the Bobcats a lift, my concern is they will see something that is not appealing. cautiously optimistic is my current mood.

I've been thinking this ever since the DePaul win. It's like a pick-up game. You may get hot and win one or two, but collectively if you have a team full of me-me-me guys, you're not going to win much.
