The Falcons are improved now that they have a living coach, but they're prone to go on walkabout for extended periods.

Open as 10 point underdog. Oof.

This is a chance to equalize the NIU fiasco. A win here could really lift the spirits and keep hope alive. A loss...oh boy.

Let me see BGSU has a winning record right? So that equates to an Ohio loss? Right? Right.

Most everyone on this site agrees that this team has been lacking motivation. They simply don't look like a happy team. Most everyone agrees that this team does not have the talent to win the MAC. That said, the players need to have fun. Get them all a number of minutes. Get them having fun and their competitive spirit will surely rise.

We that bleed green will at least support them for their efforts. It will be more fun to watch a team that is trying and competing than watching what we had to watch Wednesday.

It will be difficult to recruit players if the recruits watch dispirited players that won't work together.

I have a hard time believing there is a lack of motivation or effort. I just don't think they're comfortable with the system as of yet, which means confusion or at least hesitation, which means more thinking on the court and less action/instinct. Same thing with football. A team doesn't suddenly double their footspeed in the second year of a system, they just read and react a whole lot better.

I also take issue with anyone who thinks Stevie isn't trying. I feel for the kid because of this current cold spell, but also realize it's about winning and the production has to increase for his minutes to bounce back... but when he's on teh court I can see that he's trying to will his way past this with effort and energy even if the shots aren't falling.

So, there's not exactly a primo TV slot involved here. Why is this game at the same time as the NFL playoffs? Does everyone who schedules anything involving the MAC take stupid pills every day?

Looks like BG paired this with hockey so fans can go straight from one to the other.

Holy crud are we terrible. Nothing good about this team. Nothing at all. I have been as positive as can be throughout this year, telling people "We're the team that no one wants to play after midseason" or "Wait till MAC play." Nope. We are so bad. I cannot believe people were saying Mo was an NBA prospect. I cannot believe we drank the Kool-Aid after the DePaul game. I cannot believe that our post play is SOOOOO BAD. This is worse than football.

I wouldn't be upset if they canned the coach after one season. We are 13 games into he coaching stint in Athens and I can't see how anyone would give Phillips anything better than an F. This team is't just losing they are not competing losing at home by double digits and by 20 on road every game. One wins are close games against the bottom of the SWAC. Except for being a struggling DePaul team who was equally as bad when we played them this team hasn't shown up all year. Its not like we don't have talent. Groce and Christian weren't terrible recruiters. Phillips and staff better get busy because you don't get too many losing seasons around these part and keep your job.

Wow. I give any new coach more than 13 games before I start trying to run him out of town.

"...you don't get too many losing seasons around these parts to keep your job."

I think you may have our status in the world of college basketball a bit inflated...

Ummm, as another poster pointed out earlier in the week, Groce had a losing record his first season at Ohio. Phillips can coach; anyone who can take a team from North Dakota of all places to the Round of 32 in the NCAAs can coach.

Good grief? Some crazy posters on here. Fire the coach? That's laughable. Just silly.

Also, does JSF even like sports anymore?

Looks like we are gonna struggle this year. And, that is not a surprise. I'll be at as many games as possible rooting for my Bobcats regardless.

The transfers appear to be really good, Taylor and Laster decent, and a solid recruiting class coming in. If you can't handle a down year take the next few months off. Give yourself and everyone else a break.

This is the first of TWO tough years folks. Next year,we will bring in two transfer eligible players, four freshmen, and possibly 1-2 new additions beyond that with potential movement out of the program. That is 6-8 players who have never played a game for this program playing for the first time as OHIO Bobcats. To borrow a phrase from every browns coach since 1999, it's a process. I am dissapointed by the play and leadership of the three seniors on this team, they do need to take a look in the mirror and see what they want out of their last year of college. That being said, some patience people. This coach and staff has also made a step up in daily competition/recruiting/pressure.
