Getting that first MAC was big. Hope this team can settle down and climb back into the middle of the pack. We aren't going to be top half but if we could get up to an eight seed an earn a first round home game that would be a goal for the team to reach after a rough start in conference play. Was this a lucky nite where we shot lights out or is the a turning point. Road wins in the MAC are always big. This makes up for one of the home loses. Need to try to hold serve at home and let the MAC know we may be down, but Ohio is never out for the count. Ball State much improved team this year, so this was a nice win. First true road win.

Did anyone else catch the BSU announcer's commentary on how light-weight our team is? They said something like we were tall and skinny, and only Tony had any weight. This kind of true, but if you are athletic enough that doesn't make that much difference, IMHO. This ain't football where you have to control the line of scrimmage. ;-)
It is not but we are painfully thin, Basgere came in and changed the mindset, Zach did a great job following that. Saul has a strength coach that will ramp this thing up Day 1 following the season. We need weight, strength and size . Got quite a lot of good frames to hang it on.

Agreed. There are a number of guys that could stand to add 10-15lbs of muscle, who need an off-season transition much like Wadley had this year.

I could say that we finally got a win because I (based on history & superstition)... 1: Was not there, and/or... 2: Because I did not (could not) watch or listen - But I won't.

Good Win!
I found that only having audio was a much less frustrating way to enjoy the Cats this year. My wife commented that I was much quieter than I normally am sitting at my computer during games.

That's right. We are only three games back. I feel like this league can go to anyone, maybe other than Miami! Even Eastern can beat a Kent or a BG or a Western on any night. We are not an 0-5 team on the court. The standings say so but we most certainly, talent-wise, are able to stay with anyone. It will count on whether Bean is hitting and our defense is solid. Last year we had Bean, Nick and Travis shooting along with even T.J. outside. This year we have Bean and Stevie. Even RT isn't money. He's more of a slasher. I think that's where Block, Kaminski and Dartis will be handy next year as Simmons sets the table.

If you look at the golf standings, you really get a sense for just how bunched up things are. BG and Buffalo are the only East teams "under par"...BG was a narrow win at Kent, and Buffalo had the fortune of a trip to Miami.

Really still the only super upsetting part of the MAC season thus far was the terrible opener against NIU. Otherwise, nothing is too shocking or appalling.

The standings say we're 1-4.
