Looking like a 2-14 or 3-13 MAC Record.
2+years removed from Sweet 16, it shouldn't be this bad.
Excuses can be made...3 head coaches in 4 years...but this team is making mistakes that you'd normally see on the HS level.
3 first half turnovers on in-bounds plays.
Wide open 3 given up to end half.
Point guard racing down the court recklessly with no plan and dribbling the ball behind his back only to have it stolen away.
These guys don't look interested in playing TEAM basketball.

I agree. How can it be this bad? It's not like we have Zake Keikow and Coery what's his name at point. Man this is tough to watch.

This was especially apparent from what I saw tonight. Someone (RTaylor maybe?) got holding the ball after dribbling, while he was pivoting around trying to keep possession I expected to see teammates urgently run to his aid. Didn't happen fast enough - guys didn't seem to notice he was in trouble and didn't make much of an effort to save him so we barely kept the ball. A small play like this can speak volumes sometimes.

Just a low basketball IQ team so far.

I think were got that 12th seed pretty much locked up this year. We aren't even close in these games.

Does anyone see any wins on the schedule? I just came from watching Marietta, I'm not sure we could beat them if we played them again.

We have not played Ball State or Miami yet. I may have to stop watching the games, because they are giving me night horrors.

Correct, we have not played Ball State or Miami yet.

But those are the two teams we have the best chance of beating right now.

I've been wondering if the problems stem from Saul trying to make players fit into his system even though they weren't recruited for his system. It doesn't seem he's playing to their strengths.

Physically this team is amazing it looks like none of the post players have ever been in a weight room other than Campbell in their lives and it shows as teams push them around.
Mentally they look like they are disinterested. I was shocked as I sat close to the floor last night at the lack of emotion and teaching from Saul during the game. This season can't end soon enough for me. Tough watch.

Will someone please explain their confidence regarding our chances against Ball State? They've played pretty well so far this conference season.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the team has a leadership problem and I believe it starts with the top.

Saul, the assistants, the seniors, the walk ons, and on down... I saw zero energy last night.

There was no intensity, next to no execution, and even worse they didn't seem to care. It looked like they all had some place they'd rather be.

Leadership starts with an example and there seems to be no example on this team.

Was he unloading on himself?

Northern Illinois: 6-14 (1-8) with just 3 assists
BG: 1-9 (0-6) with just 3 assists
Toledo: 7-16 (4-10) with 4 assists
Kent State: 1-7 (1-4) with 3 assists

Three of the last 4 games are just stinkers dude.

Lose to Northern Illinois at home. What makes anyone think this squad can win at Ball State?

I don't know why Bean would unload on anyone but himself. He showed no fire last night. The worst part is that I attended with a Kent friend of mine who told me that Stevie was the guy he hated to love the last few years for his fire and last night he said I don't even hate the guy anymore -- he didn't do anything tonight. It's true. Dude was coming off a solid game and did NOTHING last night. And how was anyone saying Mo was an NBA prospect? He got stuffed 35 times on moves to the hoop and has no jumper. Treg looked off. And will a reporter please ask why we wasted a scholarship on Chandler Thomas if the dude isn't going to play. He's played less than Sam Frayer -- a walk on.

I didn't see the game, nor have I seen any game this year. I keep seeing comments such as "didn't play with intensity" or "lacked fire" or "disinterested". I don't buy that at all. Sometimes the other team is better and fans somehow think if their team just ramped it up emotionally they would win the game. These young men want to win and they play hard. The highlight of their day and week and year is to play in the game.

Appreciate the thought and what you are saying there. Fans of all programs are absolutely bonkers and have, seemingly, very little tolerance for coaches, players, programs, ADs and the like who may not be peforming to their perceptions and (unreal) expectations. Can't say how many times on many boards I have seen "lack of effort", "outcoached", "can't beat a D2", "mid major player, coach (insert whatever) at a high major school""what is our offensive (or defensive) philosophy". All those are comments made in emotional states by many who are not analysing and are venting or placing blame on coaches who do not go out on the floor and execute the game plan or they can't actually see what is going on and why. In any case, just got to take the rowl and rabble with the moment and keep the eye on the prize. You are right. The coaches and players all want to do well. The way they are approaching thngs is not always together and personalities are often clashing. Moulding the team and coming together is how you get there. We are aways away.

I aam flabbergasted you have not seen a game this year. That leaves a big void in the point of reference in the future and regarding the past. There are a lot of times I find my voice quiet on a subject because I was not here. Seems odd to read the board and not be interested enough to watch the product.

I would love to see more games, or any games for that matter. Location, elderly parents, business and other interests keep me away. Thanks for recognizing my point, Borna, that the kids and coaches are trying their best.
