Toledo blasted Akron in the second half of their game last week, and it appears that they have returned to the form predicted for them after some puzzling performances. Bad timming for the 'cats ! Hopefully Ohio will be inspired to play with more enthusiasm and purpose with the students and the 110 back in the Convo. We will need all the help our home crowd can generate!
Go Bobcats!

Maybe Toledo's a bad road team... in the conference?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Bean have a big game. Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets hit the century mark either.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us run out of our own gym. This teams seems to have some real issues right now. I just hope the coach gets a handle on these guys and leads them out of the funk cause I am not sure any of the players are capable of doing it!

Do the Rockets have a winning record?
If so we know what the likely outcome will be.

You know how email programs have that button for "Always consider mail from this address junk" and it puts it in a junk folder? I wish we had that setting for BA. I think I've had more "we can't be winning record teams" posts from 71 and "we accept mediocrity" posts from Monroe than I've had credit card offers, penis enlargement pill sales, and offers from the prince of Nigeria combined this year.

Makes me want to avoid BA sometimes...

I just want effort. Here's what my Toledo bucket list is:
1. NO ONE runs down court and gets an uncontested fast break slam. It seems like we've given up a few the last couple of games. Holmes killed us in transition. We need someone to be the "jerk" on this team. It used to be Treg but he's softened up a bit.
2. Closeouts. I coach middle school basketball. Why can I teach this and we don't do it?
3. Big men being big men. GET INSIDE TONY! Make sure Antonio is inside 100 percent of the game! We need his rebounding. And please get Mo 22 post touches.
4. 7 to 10 assists from Bean or Stevie. I know it's asking too much but as Cris Carter says, "Come on man!"
5. If Stevie misses a 3-pointer he doesn't take another one.
6. 10 pick and rolls with Tony or Mo and Bean or Stevie OR RT!
7. Just play hard and represent. And if they don't, I want the O-zone to let them have it.
8. Emotion from Saul.
9. Chandler Thomas to play at least one minute. Dude averaged 6 boards for a D-1 team, he can at least bang for us for 2 minutes right?
10. A walk on play 5 minutes (give me Frayer or Jemison if he's eligible. If not, put Williams in. Just someone fresh who cares)

I feel like Ohio is gonna knock off Toledo. The Convo has been a house of horrors for the Rockets.

Gulp.

I think we come out with a much needed fiery spirit. Toledo is probably the best team in the MAC. I watched them play Akron & realized just how deep they are with guys who can score & role players.

I think there's little doubt Toledo is the most talented team, but the Rockets don't always play to their ability. They lost back-to-back games to Detroit (8-9) and Oakland (5-12) at one point and also had some close wins against some bad teams, including needing a last-second shot to beat Northern Kentucky (6-10) right before conference play. I guess we've got to hope they play like that rather than like the team that hung with Duke and crushed Akron in the second half.

I'm with you to an extent here. I want to see the effort & hustle plays for the whole game. I want to see some positive emotion from ST, regardless of how many shots he has going in. I want to see him play so well, with so much energy, he plays his way back into starting.

Let's see better decision making. I don't care how many 3's we take as long they are solid choices for shots. Mo getting the ball more often than attempted three's is a big deal. Get in the paint, and at least try to get to the line.

In the end, if some of these guys aren't going to demonstrate the effort, giving walk on's a 5 minutes may get Saul's points across. Hopefully that doesn't have to happen.

Just enjoy the game. Since when are black jerseys "toughness jerseys"? I thought it was just a fashion statement.

They also help hide the blood from the bludgeoning we're likely to take tomorrow night.

From the FWIW file: Stevie and Mo arguably played their best games of their Bobcat careers at home against the Rockets in last years thrilling 95-90 OT win in the Convo.

Stevie: 38 minutes, 9 of 15 fg's, 3 of 5 3pters, 2 of 2 from the line, 2 rebounds, 4 pfs, 23 total points, 4 assists and 1 to, and 2 steals.

Mo: 41 minutes, 11 of 16 fgs, 0 for 1 from 3, 6 of 6 from the line, 12 rebounds, 3 pfs, 28 points, 1 assist, 0 to, 3 blocks and 2 steals.

Someone pull out the tape and show it to Stevie. It just may help him regain his confidence.
