Looks like we're getting new seats for the Convo. Have a preference?

As long as it's a padded seat in the comfort level of the current seats, I'm happy.

I'm disappointed there isn't one insanely expensive one that the seat manufacturers send out to upsell. Like the Rolls Royce of stadium chairs. With a massage function, touch screen, hand dryer, pretzel holder and matching Ottoman. Noise canceling headpones perhaps.

.....and auto rises to look like you're "standing for defense' (all of them), so the fuddy duddy behind you can't bitch if you are blocking his view.....

EDIT - The fuddy duddy who also does not come to half (or more) of the games............

This problem could be solved by having a proper "old zone" designed to accommodate folks like yourself, who like to stand and cheer often.

not sure how I feel about the grey trim. Looks good by itself but not sure if it would look good en masse in the Convo.

Great - just put it in the premium/platinum area!

Agree. But then again I'm no fashionista.

I'm surprised to see cushion chairs as a choice. I assumed that would be too expensive.

I wonder how much ticket prices will go up to pay for these upgrades.

Alan you worry too much ! Just like those nice color pictures you put in your year-books, yes, someone will have to pay for them. You get what you pay for ! Dig deep into those coffee cans full of money that you have buried out in your yard !

I hope they splurge with 1 of the first 2. They look really nice.

Ticket prices are a product of supply and demand...Not a result of capital expenditures or operating cost. You charge what optimizes revenue (students withstanding). Too many people can't separate these in their head...It drives me crazy.

Down in the platinum section, the seats are in very good shape and do not need replaced. They are the very hard plastic ones plus during the high school tournaments, they are not used so they don't get that wear and tear. Pricing is a legitimate concern to many and I would contend for many seats in the Convo, with the "contribution" that is required, we are approaching the upper limit.

The gray trim would have continuity with the gray block in the lower half of the arena. It would be interesting to know the cost difference of the fully padded seat vs. the padded seat / hard back and the seats with no padding. They might be considering using one of the lower grade versions for the very upper tier that is lime green which provide more value for the reserve seats.

It has been way too long since I have attended a home game and was curious about the type chairs at the low level that are part of the pullout section. Are they actually attached to the pullout section and collapse when the section is pushed in? I remember when I volunteered in the sports information office during the 80's that their was no "press row" other than the scorers table where I sat. The rest of the press and statisticians sat in multiple rows behind the scorers table. There was a lot of wasted space between the press area and the bleachers behind each bench. If I remember the bleachers in the pullout sections were wood.

That may be ...and it may be that the whole thing comes under renovation and capital expenditure.

The upper limit for Appalachia...it that the next argument? How do we compare to the other 351 D1` programs? How do we do in the sales end? Are there a lot of unsold seats available? Did we not just have the argument that though there a lot of seats empty that all the lower bowl is sold out? You are right about the pullout sections. DO we think those are going to actually going to be replaced?

The four sections behind the scorers row (press row is now in the back of the lower bowl far from the floor) are now all hard plastic seats that pull out and the chairs collapse when the sections are pushed back in. There are 288 seats in that area.

"The cost of bringing Viking Magic into the Convo raised my season ticket price $1. If they would rather cease to dribble, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus dribbler population."

Don't worry, Alan. They're just going to raise the general student fee to really get your goat.

Ooops - on further review it's 308. Too many snow days led to bad math.
