I just wanted to give a real quick shout out to Stevie T. and all the outgoing Seniors, but especially Stevie Taylor. In this day and age when a lot of student-athletes/basketball players unfortunately seem to go through the motions at their college and have no real emotional ties or allegiance to their school, not Stevie! Read the article in today's Athens Messenger. Like every single one of us BA posters, this kid has just had an unabashed love of Ohio University and he has from Day 1. I remember after he started at Ohio, didn't he post a picture on Instagram or something like that where he's wearing Ohio University socks, wristbands, etc. and smiling from ear to toe?

I root for all the players after they leave or graduate, but I especially cheer for the ones who have the very same feeling for Ohio University that I and all of us do! Good luck in everything you do Mr. Taylor and you will be missed!

I'll take it another step further: He's the biggest reason I am making a point to not miss Senior Day.

I'll add to my previous thought. I have this little sneaking suspicion that Stevie is going to have a great game tonight. He always seems to get "up" for the biggest games. His last game inside The Convo is one of those.

It's been a rough year, but more than anyone, ST is the one I'd like to see light it up tonight.

A true, bleed-green Bobcat and one of my all-time favorites. Stevie has a mountain of personality as well!

I agree that ST seems like a really likable kid but let's face it, he mailed it in this year. Multiple sources have indicated that he took the summer off and is exhibiting zero leadership in the locker room. Other kids were living in the gym; he was enjoying the fresh dough at Rotollo's Pizza in Columbus. He joins the pantheon of potentially special Ohio athletes who have had disappointing finishes in A-Town - Dontrell Jackson, Curtis Simmons, Ivo Baltic... It sucks to look back on your final year of college with regret.

Did you seriously leave Tettleton off the list?!?! I love the list by the way, if only because I remember that as much as I loved OHIO, I was ready to move on to my real life by my senior year. I realize that's different than athletes, but there have to be some similarities to being burnt out.

He never looked to be in shape this season.

I never saw Stevie not hustle in any game this season. I saw him making some bad plays and dribbling himself into a corner or a double team, but I never saw him not try to do whatever he could to try to help the team win. Mistakes of enthusiasm and less than perfect BBIQ I can live with (Lord knows my own BBIQ is probably about 68]. Go OHIO beat Oxford Tech!

He had 3 coaches mailed to him in 4 years. C'mon - Stevie bleeds more Green than anyone on this board.

I agree! Stevie never mailed anything in, has he been what some hoped 4 years ago? Probably not, but he's always played hard and represented well. Thanks Stevie!

I will always have positive Stevie memories. His GW 3 against Kent undoubtedly goes down as one of my favorite moments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkTNMvPExcY

I predict that we haven't heard the last of Stevie. He'll be an active alumnus and I wouldn't be surprised if he helped some with recruiting by talking up OHIO.

I can only assume at this point that Stevie knocked up your daughter or something.

trying to shame Stevie for his results this year and openly questioning his effort is just petty. Stevie's biggest shortcoming is that he tried to play above his means and live up to the expectations of DJ Cooper, not that he didn't try at all. Stevie has been an ambassador for this program for 4 years both on and off campus and will continue to be for many years. The kid bleeds green. He also helped keep this team together through 2 coaching changes. I appreciate all he's done for Ohio University and appreciate the enthusiasm and excitement he has brought to the team for the past 4 years.

Once this season ends, Stevie will likely get the honor of being my avatar for a full season since I've decided to dedicate that space to the most recent Sr basketball class.

Treg will be the only graduating Sr next year?

Also, WOW, has it really been almost an entire year since last year's MAC Tourney and CIT run? Man. That doesn't feel like a year.

Well said. He is, indeed, a great ambassador for the program.

I have been as hard on Stevie as anyone, but he has really played a lot better the second half of this season and it was great to see him and the other seniors go out with a big W. Stevie may not have scored much in the last game, but his ability to beat the traps and press (not stand there and wait for it to come to you, Bean) were huge. I'll miss seeing him in the Convo in green and white!

These moments, plus his pregame "dancing" in the huddles is how I'll always remember #22. I'm disappointed for him this year didn't go as well as he hoped. Not disappointed IN him.
