I was a crazy passionate 15 year old Bobcat fan and at the Illinois State game with my Pops and it remains one of the highlights of my sporting life. Robert and my old man remained close for decades. Dad told me tonight that Robert even recognized his voice in a Convo bathroom not too long ago when he was in serious decline. He was a great Bobcat who loved the University. I've always connected his amazing shot with my amazing father, who was and is as passionate about the Bobcats as he is Shakespeare and Ohio Univesity and who has joined me in seeing incredible games across the country. Thank you Robert and thank you Dad.
What a nice story. Thanks for sharing. I think from the Shakespeare reference my English professor wife has figured out who you are.
If you out me I may stop passing you the ball for that open J of yours . . . .

;)
My lips are sealed! ;-)

Very impressive service today for Rob; it was truly a celebration of his life.
Former Bobcat coach, players/managers in attendance: (off the top of my head--apologies if I've left anyone out) Nee & Baron among those who spoke.

Danny Nee, John Devereaux, Nate Cole, Vic Alexander, Rick Scarberry, Roger Smith, Paul Baron, Steve Bruning, Jay Wolfe, Brent Johnson.

Rest in Peace
Robert Lee Tatum, Jr.

A great turnout of great OHIO men to honor a great Bobcat! This warms my heart to read that all these folks turned out to honor Mr. Tatum. :-)

Thanks Ted. For those of us who came here right before Danny showed up, this really brings back some fond memories of great basketball, good people, and times much simpler than they are today.

Yes, Ted, thanks very much, great to read Robert's quotes. He was a good kid and a good man. The Depaul game is one of my all-time Convo memories, and I'm proud to say I bet a dollar on the game with a certain influential local teacher who bleeds green and white. And I had the 'Cats. And I still have the dollar. We went double-or-nothing on the MAC championship game @ BG. I still have that dollar too. :)
