Was just reading on their website that Preseason Atlantic Sun 1st teamer Demetris Morant recently underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his shin and will be out until December. They still have some talent though even with the loss of the two guys that killed us (Bernard Thompson & Brett Comer).

I'm wondering if they have a new message board because the EaglesNest website seems to be dying.

That should help give us a size advantage in the post on top of our length on the wings. I would look for a 20 and 10 sort of game from Tony.

When did the game time for FGCU change?

It was originally listed as 7pm.

Great to see an official game thread pop up. Good opponent to kick off this season.

I'm very excited to see the new guys in action on Saturday, especially Kaminski and Simmons of course. Having a true PG in Simmons intrigues me.

Based on what we saw in the exhibition game, you're going to enjoy his three years here.

Now that the "bowl eligible" game is over for the week, I'm interested to know what others are thinking about this game. While OUVan mentioned Morant is out with the injury, I think they still have a lot of highly recruited talent on their roster.

As Jaaron goes, so goes Ohio.

I think so too. As Jaaron goes, so goes Ohio.

The Eagles were 22-11 last year.

I couldn't find one but I'm guessing there is one. The one listed here was pretty active last year at this time.

Kind of as expected, it reads there are a a few really good athletes, and couple athletic bigs on this team. Seems like a game for Jaaron to really show up big with questions for FGCU at the point.

On another note, they have the kind of schedule that I hope we'll see in future years. Don't take this as a complaint about our schedule this year, just a "I like their schedule" comment.

Looks like there is some new content here: http://www.scout.com/college/florida-gulf-coast

The site is active with content but there is no activity on the message board to see what the fans think. The articles don't even allow comments as far as I can tell.

One thing I just read on the site that I didn't realize was that walk-ons have to sit out a year if they transfer as well. Don't understand the reasoning there.

Edit: probably shouldn't use a form of active three times in a sentence.

You got it. It gets a little tricky with the Paradise Jam, but I provided a link with the bracket there so people can see how that could shake out.

I'm waiting to see the spread. I estimate about OHIO will be favored by 6.
I guess we won't know till tomorrow.

Why no odds on this game? I've checked multiple Vegas books and can't find a line?

If this is the starting lineup again I can't imagine there are too many teams in the country with a taller starting five.

PG — Jaaron Simmons (6-1, Soph.)

G — Khari Harley (6-9, Soph.)

F — Treg Setty (6-9, Senior)

F — Kenny Kaminski (6-8, Junior)

C — Antonio Campbell (6-10, Junior)

Both Arkley and the article above had that as likely starters. And I agree. That is really, really tall.

I'm more interested how that works on defense than anything.

I am excited.
