Yesterday was my 2nd time this season to see the Cats in person. A few observations on yesterday's win - and more knowledgeable basketball fans than I feel perfectly free to smack me if you believe I've erred.

* Setty. Showed some nice moves to get off shots down low but miserable touch on those shots.
* Campbell. Hitting his first 3 attempt clearly gave him a shot of confidence that seemed to pay off in all aspects of his game.
* Campbell. I've not checked the game stats, but I don't recall his being whistled for a single foul.
* Team defense. Looked a little better than I expected. With this exception: too many times letting Ball succeed on back door cuts and on short passes under the basket.
* Kiminski. Looked like he was from somewhere else in the solar system and couldn't find a way to return to earth. In another word: lost.
* Simmons. If memory is correct he played 39+ minutes. Understandably. Looks like the team's engine and glue.
* Block: Coming off the bench, he seemed to ignite with both hustling defense and solid offense.
* Great substitution. In the closing seconds Coach Phillips subbed for Kiminski, and the payoff was the steal and dunk.
* Big swing. From down as many as 8 pts in the first half to up by as many as 10 in the second half. Impressive.

Simmons is my kind of PG. Chauncey Billips type who looks pass first, but can take over scoring onus when needed.
