I like it! You voluntarily come here and participate and when your viewpoints are opposed, you're being bullied!
Who injected a totally inappropriate comment in this thread with the intent to get at a poster you've decided to harrass because he won't concede that Frank should be fired? Last I looked this was the basketball forum.
Your methodology is in view it's fair game. (Ask the lawyers here; what a witness says and his motivation and methodology are 'in court.') It's fair that someone call me on it if what I post here is inconsistent with what I post in any other thread on this board.

Please stop being so sensitive. I admit; I'm insistent when the key facts are not consistent with your opinions. When people show that's so for me, I think I do a good job of listening/considering, of not immediately lashing out.

I think you don't know a fact from an opinion. You don't know how to view data in context. Everything you do, with rare exception, is agenda driven. You, never, ever know how to deal with objective data as presented by L.C., or T.S., to name just a few. You have your opinions. Your look for data that supports those opinions. You ignore all non-supportive data. And, then you declare yourself the most objective person in the world. You are a very interesting case study in lack of self-awareness. If there are any psychologists on BA, you are probably most interesting to them on a professional level! ;-)

These exchanges don't really fit the purposes of this message board.

tilly, watch him for a while during a game. The guy is a 4 in the mac and he is playing a 3. Most of the wings are consistently blowing by him, leading to double teams and open shots for the help defenders man in the lane. It is consistent. It is something SP needs to figure out too.

As for his offense, how many times did you see him fade away and have a leg at a 45-90 degree angle away from his body during the NIU game? That is not good form. I agree with others, I think he is trying too hard, rushing some shots and taking some bad shots.

Let's hope this all gets better as the year goes on. If not, this will be a long year. Oh, and being a 71 has nothing to do with it other than we've seen a lot of good and bad in FB and BB over the years and we don't mind sharing our observations/opinions. Most all of the above are just observations that anyone watching the game can see and might have a comment about. I'm not trashing anybody.

Please tell Monroe to stop his harassment. I probably err in not just ignoring him, but he has a way of injecting his venom at almost every turn. I'm getting quite sick of it myself. He even, as you know, started a special thread in Siberia just to rag on me. He's a piece of work!

IMO a certain poster is WHY it would be great to have an IGNORE feature. Maybe he just enjoys reading his repetitive posts over and over and over and .......

Not to mention he seems to have trouble actually following the content of certain threads.

+1

Several posters -- of varied political persuasions -- have PMed me in the last day or two suggesting that I just implement a "manual ignore" feature. I've decided to implement that policy immediately. From this moment forward I will no longer respond to anything he says, even if it is a direct personal attack on me. I'm totally through with him. He'll probably conclude that this policy proves that he is such a superior intellect that he's won every argument because I can't refute his points. If that makes him feel good, he can just continue in his imaginary world, and I will cease to care.

Uh, oh - looks like 3Ball has sabotaged this thread again...

I agree - very fair to evaluate after 1/3 of the season has past. Defense more than the subpar shooting is the real issue. Also - would've been nice if he could have developed a more overall balanced offensive game after sitting out over a year. Oh, well - hopefully he settles in during MAC play, but we'll see.

Tilly, just where do you get that I'm pissing and moaning about the Bobcats? Did you even read my post or just see the 71 number? Read it and you'll see I'm pissing and moaning about all the posters and their ridiculous predictions about various aspects of football and basketball, both about individual players and team aspects.
My only question is, if you don't want to see predictions about a basketball team, why do you hang out on that basketball team's message board? What are we supposed to talk about?

Just watched OHIO take down Ball State. No stats out yet, but KK didn’t score. He had 2 good deep looks, missed them both; took two not so good shots, both misses; one drive to the hoop which was smothered; one nice put back but it didn’t go down. On defense, he just doesn’t match up well when he plays down low. At end of game when Ball had to foul, Saul was playing KK on offense for his free throw ability, but Harley replaced him on D.

KK is a streak game player. When he’s on it’s show time. Hopefully with more PT, he’ll get more consistent, square up more often for his shots, and mix it up and focus more on defense.

Example of what I'm talking about! KK received all kinds of hype on this board before ever hitting the floor for one second as a bobcat. His height was such that he couldn't be stopped shooting 3's. No one in the MAC could guard him! He also was the best 3pt shooter in the Big one yr. he was made out to be something too good to be true for us. Ok, have all that talk, but now after he has played a few games we have to have a thread titled What's wrong with KK. Maybe being a little realistic to begin with would have tempered both the initial and present threads.
You made it out that I was being negative and complaining, apparently because you saw 71 associated with me. As a former coach I never bought into the initial thread that KK would be unstoppable as a player in the MAC. I also did not get excited enough to get down on the kid because he has not matched the hype you posters unfairly heaped upon him. My comments were mean't to encourage posters to be more realistic in their posts. These kids all put their pants on the same way and I expect every game to be a battle every game out. Most are, some may not end that way. You never know until you play the game!

you use hyperbole to grossly overstate other people's comments and then condemn them for being hyperbolic.

As the one who started this thread, let me clarify that I wasn't condemning KK to a life in basketball purgatory. I wasn't saying that I didn't think he had a lot of talent. I wasn't saying that I thought he was a bad "get" for OHIO. I was simply wondering why he had gotten off to a less than stellar start to his OHIO playing career. I suspect that he will get better as the season goes along, and I still believe that he has a lot of upside. I was simply wondering if someone with a better basketball IQ than I possess could identify what might account for the way he's been playing in this first part of the season. I appreciate those who have contributed to my better understanding of why this might be so.

One thing I noticed in today's game and in a few previous games is that he's had a number of three-point attempts that have literally gone in the basket and then spun back out. This must have something to do with the rotation (or spin) that he's putting on the ball. Can anyone identify what part of his mechanics might be responsible for this type of "English" on so many of his shots? I suspect that he must be making more of these outside shots in practice since he still has the green light to shoot from nearly anywhere on the court. Thanks for any further insights anyone can give me on this.

Not at all. His post was clear and concise and one of the more coherent ones on here lately. We have too many Jeane Dixon's if you ask me.

Well actually "His height was such that he couldn't be stopped shooting 3's. No one in the MAC could guard him!" are certainly hyperbole -- show me where anyone said these extreme things. Obviously hyperbole was used to make a point, but that doesn't not make it hyperbole.
