I loved Tony before it was cool to love Tony. Consistent foul trouble to this point in his career is the only thing holding him back from being among the greats at Ohio.
That and he went an entire year without seeing the ball anywhere near the basket. I said it last year that he would have been 1st team All-MAC if he had had a chance to play with DJ. We have a reasonable facsimile now and the results are showing.

Agreed! The results are showing, and not just for Tony.

Maybe we should all just accept adjusting schedules for TV is the reality of today's college environment. Also no matter what time is selected some will be happy and others won't. If you don't like it, do t show up. If you like it then show up.

The Big is playing a ton of Sunday games today. Every conference in the country pretty much adjust the schedules based on TV.

I'm in agreement that showing up to support the team regardless of when the scheduled tip time is, is something we need more of. And I agree that not everyone will be happy with the time of day games are scheduled.

But I still sometimes wonder about the line of thinking within the MAC offices and the Ohio offices. Not because I think OUr staff is doing a bad job, but because there might be a need to try different things. Different tip times might be one of them. When TV dictates tip time, you roll with whatever you're told. When it doesn't, unless the league controls it as Alan questioned (good question!), then to me it makes sense to move times around a little to see what kind of response and results you get from fans via tickets sold, excitement in the arena, etc. I've held the belief for a few years that a 4pm time slot might be the ideal time. Granted, that's just my opinion, but it sure seems like a good fit for the out of town fan base. I also think it might result in a student attendance boost. Maybe it wouldn't make a difference. We'll never know if the times generally stick to 2pm. I am excited for the addition of two Womens/Mens double headers.

When we first came here in 1979, it was Wednesday at 7:30 and Saturday at 3:30. It's tough to accurately measure the effect of certain game times because of weather, record, charismatic coaches and players, other things going on, etc. I'm a firm believer in habits and when people can count on something they are more likely to participate.

I like that line of thinking as well. I'd like both of those times quite a bit, especially 7:30 on Tu/Wed when driving from Columbus.

Absolutely - I 270/33 interchange then down to Carroll light is the angst filled Bermuda Triangle of my Bobcat fandom after work travelling to the game life. An extra 30 minutes would be huge!

Am I the only one who thought Jimmy Hall could have been called for traveling on almost every drive to the tin? He shuffles those feet a lot.
Hall catches near the paint then tucks the ball and lowers shoulder like a fullback then drives Hard toward basket while getting away with an extra step/half step - like quite a few MAC bigs recently (i.e. Moss, Mavunga). The player taking the initiative seems to get the benefit of the doubt/no call. Similar to the wing/guard who takes the initiative and get's a half step on the defender who then is susceptible to the "reach/touch" call.

That is the way the game is being called - so the way you got to play....
