Even worse than that in my opinion was when Toledo was making a run at the end of the first half and Ohio could have had the last possession. You run one play and take your shot. Ideally, you shoot with four-to-five seconds left. If you miss, you have a chance for a put-back, and if Toledo rebounds they don't have enough time to get up the floor. Instead, apparently the best Ohio could do was take a Wadley 3 with eight or nine seconds left. Toledo rebounds, takes it up the floor, lays it in with ease. Toledo heads to the locker room with all the momentum.
I remember thinking the same thing at the end of the half, ouallday. If you recall, Saul had subbed Wadley in for TC the play before, I assumed a defense for offense substitution. There was a deadball before Ohio got its last possession and I was thinking TC would go back in for Wadley. As Simmons was bringing the ball up the floor I noticed TC walking from the scorer's table back to the bench. And, as you pointed out, the remaining 20 seconds or so were not ideal.
