10K in the building? I think they deserve it.

Definitely deserve it. Also, if they get an exciting win, it brings back those who just watched a great game for more games, building momentum for potentially more folks in Cleveland.

It's Miami. It's gonna be a nice day. Bobcats rolling.

I don't see how 10K should be a problem.

I'll take the under on that one. Gut feeling says this is a lot closer than 30.

Main thing for the team is to avoid overconfidence. Treat this game like any other. Until the last two poor performances, Miami had won three out of four.

In his post game comments with Russ I liked what Saul had to say about the Miami game. He understands its importance on a number of levels, including momentum, confidence, and fanbase.

Forecast is 60 degrees in Cincy Saturday, seemS very likely same in SE OH.

Thousands upon thousands of undergrads should make their way to the Condo to reverse their cabin fever.

10k+ attendance seems more than likely.

Muck 'em, fellas.

There will be a solid crowd this weekend and it will be well deserved. Ohio needs to come out early and put their foot on Miami's throat and not let up! I can't wait!! Planning on getting up to Athens around 11:30 and heading up town for lunch and then the game!!! Where green and GO OHIO!

Love this quote on the Miami board, the topic is potential head coaches to replace Cooper if he gets fired. Someone mentioned John Groce and another Miami fan replied with this nugget of gold-

Quote:expand_more
Not a huge Groce fan and I don't view him as a legit candidate. His success at Ohio is a little misleading. He never won a regular season conference title. The first year they went to the NCAA tournament, they finished 8th in the conference but had a fairly easy road in Cleveland. He may or may not be back at Illinois next year.

lmao. there are some minor factual error- Ohio was a 9 seed, not 8, and playing #1, #4 and #3 in Cleveland is literally the toughest draw possible (the #2 seed was the automatic West winner), but that's besides the point. The point is a Miami fan looks at a coach who won 3 NCAA Tournament games and 2 MAC tournament championships in 4 years and says "meh... I'll pass". That is SO Miami.

New Coach at Miami might be Jason Grunkemeyer who is at Ball State. We beat the OU Traitor twice this year. Loser transferring to Miami to be closer to his mommy and daddy. LOL

I actually registered and responded because of that exact post. In my opinion if Miami had a chance to grab Groce I would be all over him. He would give that program the energy and excitement that it DESPERATELY needs. Talk about stoking the Ohio-Miami rivalry. I doubt that it would happen but you never know. Stranger things have happened.

Now that would be there hire that would absolutely ignite Ohio alumni that remember the transfer and the shot! It would be fun! The game Saturday would be a lot more fun if Miami had more riding on the game. I know it's Miami and we are fired up but I get the feeling they are just riding this one out. Seems to be a forgone conclusion that coach is gone. Do they have any decent commits from around Ohio that could be released?

I think the new shot clock causes problems for teams like Fiami. They like to slow things down to get their opponents out of rhythm. But with the new shot clock, they can't slow it down like they used to. Teams are still getting about the same number of possessions they would ordinarily get with the 35-sec clock. This has hurt them in MAC play. They're averaging 58 pts a game in MAC play -- about four pts a game less than their season average. And they're giving up about 72 pts a MAC game -- about three pts more than their season average. If we control the tempo and have an average shooting game, this one shouldn't be close.

Don't know about 10K+, but should be a good crowd. Last home game of the year for students (Spring Break starts next weekend).

As much as I love to hate Miami, I wish they were good. It makes the rivalry much more interesting and something to look forward to. OU/Miami games when both teams are rolling are some of the most fun I've had in the Convo. Would be great to recapture that someday.

Groce to Miami? Yep, that might do it.

Didn't Tommy Freeman hit his last second game winner at The Convo vs. redhawk?

That's the video which we need to see.

Expectations for Miami are regular season titles, not NCAA tournament wins. Got it.

Someone else posted the record but I'm pretty sure Groce was on the plus side vs. MAC "power" Akron as well. They guy rebuilt Ohio in a hurry and Miami would be crazy not to grab him if her were available. Unless of course there is something in the background that is a deal breaker that we don't know about which seems unlikely. Then again the fact that he coached at OU could be that deal breaker!

They have a couple 3* kids, one signed, one verbal. Two other commits. 3 of 4 are local kids regionally.
