I saw the second best team in the conference play tonight!!!

Hope we beat Miami by 50. Still will be happy just for a W too.

How about some of the small things that will go unnoticed? Jaaron with only three points and three shots but six assists and no turnovers. Did a nice job on defense and calming the offense. Gavin with nine assists against the zone. Doug Taylor with seven boards. Treg with 16 and 5 and Jordy outplaying their freshman. And all of this was done WITHOUT KENNY KAMINSKI! I was worried that with the zone we would launch 3's but instead we were patient and worked the ball around. Tony is hitting his stride and Jordy is out of his mind. I know Thompson is tough and will get his but Jordy seriously is freshman of the year to me.

I think this team is still a ways off. We may lose to Miami and I don't foresee a win at BG but I think we can rise to win 3 of the next 5 and finish 20-10. That's a 10-game turnaround from last year. I just wish we had Treg another year to reap the rewards of this team. He is our MVP.

Pretty impressive win. The MAC can't guard Tony Campbell period. Ride him all the way folks.

I really like Treg and what he brings to this team but in my voting he's not even in the top three for MVP. Tony, Jaaron and Jordan, probably in that order, are more valuable to this team than Treg.

I am not dumb enough to think that Jaaron and Tony arent the best players but Treg brings so much to this team. His hustle and passion make him an X factor. All hyperbole aside I was just pumping up my favorite player of the past few years.

The 'Cats are looking better with each game. I really think this team has jelled over the last few games and is starting hit its stride. They are a joy to watch with their teamwork and general attitude. Tonight, Antonio really took over and just had a commanding game. And my man Dartis just continued to improve in all phases of the game. I know some think that JT IV is the freshman of the year in the conference, but for my money its Dartis. Go OHIO!

I'll leave analysis and details to others to provide but, wow!, this is great. We are playing some ball.

I love that we can have fun arguing over who's our best or most valuable player.

What was impressive for me was that OHIO extended a nine-point lead at the half to a 22-point win with no KK and "only" 10 points from Tony in the second half (after 23 in the first).

Assistant Coach Will Ryan tweeted out last night that the Cats had an 11-pass possession which led to an and-one opportunity. That's impressive.

Love the way the Cats played last night. As a team, they had 20 assists on 29 made baskets! That's some #SaulBall right there! Sharing is caring. Completely dissected the EMU zone.

Tony moved up to #3 in John Hollinger's PER rankings last night. Interesting that six of the top ten guys on this list are from non-power leagues.

Another overlooked stat is Simmons with no turnovers.

Not the best or most talented but one could make a case that he is a necessary part of the mix because of the energy he brings, the motivation he provides, and way in which he gets the crowd involved. People young and old just like him.

You guys realize we should eclipse double digits in MAC wins this season...after barely getting to double digit wins all SEASON last year? Yikes.

And some folks wanted to run Saul back to cheese country not that long ago.

Okay, I have a rules question. Why didn't we get the ball last night after Thompson's T? Dartis shot the technical first and then the one-and-one. The reason I ask is that BG got the ball back on a similar situation on their 10 point possession earlier in the year. There they shot the free throw first and then the technical.

My assumption is that it was because the T occurred after the foul call which was to send Dartis to the line for the 1 and 1. But it's just that, an assumption.

I wondered the same thing. Was it because EMU possessed the ball at the time of the foul?

They didn't though. Dartis had just secured the rebound when Thompson plowed into him.

The T's against BG occurred after the foul call as well.

I love where this team has gone since the thrashing at CMU. I'm hopeful they can go 4-1 down the stretch and lock up the #2 seed and avoid Akron until the final.

I think they are good enough to beat anyone is this league...especially on a neutral floor.

A little adversity down the stretch would be nice to ground them before heading to Cleveland....but double-digit wins work just fine too!

I just hope their youth/inexperience doesn't rear it's ugly head in Cleveland where tourney time tends to bring that out in young teams.

Regardless, this has been a fun resurgence this year....and it only sets the bar that much higher in 2016-17 with everyone (minus Treg) returning.

But let's enjoy the ride this year and see where it takes them.....I'm imagining some postseason past the MAC Tourney will happen....let's just hope it's the NCAA variety

The ball gets put back in play where play was stopped. So play would resume with the foul on Dartis ( and him subsequently shooting the one-and-one).

You can see Treg's heart on the floor. Love the way he plays. Getting the crowd fired up = good.

I've kind of wondered how we stay in games on the boards. I may be off-base but: TC is obviously strong on the boards. I imagine our guards are decent rebounders. Not sure we get that much rebounding from Kaminsky. Treg must help us a lot there, then...Otherwise, big teams would probably beat us badly off the glass.

What about the BG game? If what you are saying is correct then it should have ended up with their guy shooting the free throw from the foul. Instead they got the ball out of bounds.

I'm also interested in a response to this from Ted or someone who can clear it up. Here's what I think: the BG game call was correct and Tuesday night was incorrect. I say this not because of a close understanding of the rulebook, but because of the way the refs seemed to screw up the situation on Tuesday. I believe that once a player receives a second technical they are gone, basically immediately, and can't even be on the bench. On Tuesday the refs handled the situation as if Thompson had simply fouled out with his 5th foul. He was allowed to stay on the court during the whole ensuing conversation after the tech, and even then when Dartis was shooting the technical and then he was subbed out after the free throw. He went to the end of the bench and was there for a few minutes of game time before one of the refs woke up (or did our bench or somebody else say something?) and realized Thompson needed to be sent to the locker room. There was yet another conversation with the ref and EMU coach and then finally JT IV was escorted to the locker room. So I'm guessing they screwed up and we should have received the ball too. I don't know, however, how a situation of a 1 and 1 free throw opportunity is handled if the shooting team is to get the ball back too, like the BG game. Does the non-shooting 1 and 1 foul automatically become 2 shots and the ball??????
