I have never paid much attention regarding how many of those sub 500 teams were taken from the Power conferences.

One of the tournaments (CIT I think) has a rule requiring teams to finish over .500. The other has taken sub .500 teams before.
So has the NCAA.
Only if they got an automatic bid, right?
