We haven't had a MAC POY since Trent
Ummm, D.J. won it in 2014. Leon Williams should have won it but that's a different story for a different time.

And I completely disagree with you about Campbell and his fire. Even though he didn't score a lot in the Buffalo and Akron games he still played the rest of the game well. He got double digit rebounds in both games and their strategy only stopped Campbell and not the rest of the team. We still beat Buffalo and lost to Akron because we allowed them to hit 20 threes on us.
Totally skimmed past Cooper in 2014. My bad.

Ohio had a stretch in late 80's-mid 90's where they had MAC POY 6 out of 7 years. Wow.

Anyhow....AC didn't have double figure rebounds vs. UB (6 pts, 9 rebs). He's had a few other games like that (loss at NIU 5 pts, 3 rebs....win vs. NIU 11 pts, 7 rebs...vs. BG 13 pts, 3 rebs)

My point was he has these moments where he looks disengaged.....and whether that's a team taking him out of the game or whatever it is, he has them.

Doesn't mean he's not MAC POY.....

My point is if he can erase those type of performances, there's no telling how good he could be next season.

I don't remember ever seeing Trent put up 5/3 in a game.
In what universe is 11 points and 7 rebounds a disengaged performance?

The one where you average 20/11 in MAC play.

I don't know if I'd call Tony disengaged in the loss at NIU, he only played 13 mins before fouling out. The home BG game, again he was limited by foul trouble (16 minutes) but was 5-6 from the floor (again fouling out).

The only time he wasn't a factor in any game was when he was in foul trouble. Frankly I could care less how many points he puts up if he's doing what he needs to do elsewhere. The UB game you complain about we scored 103 points. Does it really matter that the majority didn't come from Tony? They sold out to stop Tony and it cost them to the tune of 80 points from Jaaron, Kenny and Treg. As I said that day, I hope other teams employ the same strategy. I can't think of a single game where I thought Tony didn't looked engaged.

STOP comparing him to Trent - OMG, he doesn't stack up to Trent. No Sh$t. Appreciate who he is and what he provides this team and program. And forgive him for not being the GOAT.

Chill out, man.

1. I wasn't the one who was comparing him to Trent in the first place.

2. I NEVER said he wasn't good or complained about him. All I simply said was I felt there were a few games this year that he just seemed out of it. I pointed those out. I'm not saying you have to agree. It's my freakin' opinion.....it's not a fact.

I don't give a flying **** if he scores 2 points a game.....as long as we win. All I was saying is that he has a chance to really blossom next season if he builds off this season. His jump from soph to junior year was nice....and I think he has a chance to really make a leap into his senior season and become a dominant 20+/10+ guy over the course of the year,

Man...some people on here are just bound and determined to rip into anyone that isn't 100000000% pro-Bobcat on every post/every opinion/everything.

Let me clear this up for you. I like AC....I think he had a really, really good year. I think his is MAC POY....and I think he had a few games were he wasn't at his best. If Ohio didn't have him, they'd probably be a 12-15 win team. He provides us with our real, only post presence. And with the way our offense is perimeter-based....that's a really good thing. While Jaaron is the straw that stirs the drink....that drink would empty most cases without AC.

I look at AC's body build now vs. his first year and there's a world of difference.

The most stark similar example which I can recall is how cut and fit DeVaughn ended up becoming in his final year.

If AC keeps up the work and progress, he can be a really dominating force next year. Isn't the table set for that next year with all the talent we'll have?!

Hey, next year starts later this week. GO OHIO!!!!!!!!!!!!
