I hope we get a chance in the NIT. I think we can show some stuff and the NIT would make us appealing with some name recognition and some star power. I have to say that I hope Treg gets another game. Dude is just a Bobcat through and through.

Here is an interesting stat for tonight....Bench scoring Buffalo 28 Ohio 5.
The other thought I had, where we need improvement, is on our perimeter D. Between this game and the recent Akron game we can't allow teams to shoot that well from the 3 making 14 & 20 respectfully.

No one is stopping Ohio next year with 4 starters back. No one! Ohio will be the team to beat next season without a doubt.
Not so sure OhioBobcat.

Ohio will be better, but so is just about every other team in the MAC. UB, the team that ran us off the floor tonight, is loaded with returning talent, plus big man Rakeem Johnson, who sat out the season. And adding 2-3 quality recruits. I'd say UB is better off with Oats than Hurley.

Most other teams in the MAC will also be better. Really like the freshmen throughout the conference and most of the recent coaching hires.

And i'll be the first to say it on here; UB beats Akron tomorrow night.
And don't forget Ball State and EMU; both should be improved.

And this is a good thing! If we want the MAC to be a better conference like the MVC and be a 2 bid conference, the MAC as a whole needs to improve and it is doing so.

Was this our first loss in a MAC semi since Kent State in '03? I can think of 4 other appearances (05, 10, 12, 13), and we won all of those.

Down 55-50....KK wide-open 3...pump fake...creates difficult shot...UB goes on run and that was pretty much the game.

Not saying we win the game if he makes the 3, but the shot has to be taken in that situation.
Hats off to the team for a very enjoyable season. Already looking forward to next year.

Bobcats gave us a very good year. We improved from 10 to 21 wins and finished as the 2nd seed in the MAC tournament in a year the MAC was pretty decent overall. This team managed to reach the semi-finals. Buffalo was the team along with Akron with the deep bench and big game experience. Bobcats have a very solid starting five.

KKs defensive play was a huge liability tonight.
Who was the D stud? KK was soft - and he had a full roster of soft/weak D team mates.....

Fair point, but it certainly got frustrating seeing 13 run out late on open 3's after losing his man. Improving defensive play will be key for next year. I believe Saul can accomplish that.

OhioBobcat--your ability as a seer is now in question.

Yeah, it was so obvious that we were exhausted at points. Can't understand why we didn't call timeout(s), especially after about 6 minutes of that incredibly fast-paced start to the second half. We were clearly gassed and needed to re-group.

And we did nothing to even TRY TO stop their endless runout fastbreaks.

Totally agree that Beefs and a good number of teams in MAC look to be quite good next year.

I watched the streaming. Maybe it was different at the arena. But I find the comments about the bad officiating to be comical. The officiating was okay. Well, it did not favor either team. Seem to be a few here who view any foul call on OHIO as a sin. There were bad calls on us during the season. But of the handful of games that I watched, I never saw officiating that affected the outcome of the game. (I didn't see that 10-point play thing vs. BG, though.)

As I sit numb in the stands as the game concluded, I knew I had this movie before and I also knew I never wanted to see it again. To be as pithy as possible; our offense played horrible, our defense played horrible, and it matched the horrendous officiating. On the flip side, Buffalo played great in all facets of the game. As I stated; I have seen this movie before and I hope I never have to see it again!

Is it playing anyplace beside the theater of the voices in your head?

I sure hope that you're being sar-castic.

Monroe, how many tournament flops do you want me to name? I have been going to MAC tournament for about 30 years. Thankfully, it isn't a multi-part documentary like the Buffalo story. Now don't get me wrong being the optimist that I am, we certainly have had our fair share of success in the tournament and I prefer to remember those joyful moments. However, we have had our fair share of tournament flops and the sting lasts a few hours, at least as long as the 3 hour drive home, if not longer. Hopefully, this won't happen for a long, long time.

Unless we improve our bench we won't be the favorite. We really need a backup point guard, Simmons was gased and after 39 minutes the night before he should be gased. What happened to Taylor did he not play or did I just miss him. I think Taylor may be the key to next year if he gets 100% recovered and developes his offense. Taylor needs to play 20 minutes a game and KK needs less minutes even if they don't play the same position.

Good call.

Someone on here posted after the overtime win v. UB in the Convo that he doesn't like how UB plays. I have to say, having seen them play 3 games this week in Cleveland, plus several more times during regular season, that I love how they play. Athletic, attacking on both ends, deep, relentless on offensive glass. . .

Most return next year plus 6-10 Rakeem Johnson and three 3-star recruits including a 6-11 big man. Ohio will be better but the Cats won't be the pre-season choice to win the MAC.

I said it and I still don't like their offense. If they shoot like they normally shoot they don't beat us yesterday. They are a bad shooting team that shot really well. They typically don't move the ball well either. They do attack like crazy but when they are shooting like they normally do that's a lot easier to defend. In their first two games against us they were 12-42 from three. Last night they were 14-27. If they shoot anything close to that they are really, really, really hard to beat. But they don't typically. They had 12 games this year where they shot under 30%. But they did get hot at the right time. Their percentage in Cleveland - 44%. Let's hope they can maintain that in the NCAA tournament. If they can they might be able to make a run.

Remember, their first game v. Ohio was w/o Bearden, who had something to do with a lot of their open looks this week in Cleveland.

We'll disagree, but all I'm saying is that my prohibitive too-early favorite to win the MAC next year is UB.
