Thanks, Ted!

All right, Dragon...time to get back on this message board. If you read it, I'm sure you're cringing at our respective analyses.

That was brilliant. Maybe I'll start doing the same thing with the college football playoff.

My only disappointment is no OHIO banner in the background. Shame on you, Dragon!

They didn't ruin it for him for this year on the show, but there is a very funny story as to how he found out this year's winner afterward. I'll save that for him to share, though.

Kimmel said it best: "it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life".

Not sure but I think Jeffrey/Dragon's organization is grant funded and privately funded. What say you folks that we raise $50,000 for Jeff's local organization? That's 50 of us at $1000 or 100 of us at $500 or 500 of us at $100. Any takers?

OK - I've received 2 $100 pledges so far. Any more takers?

OK, this got me out of the cave.

If you want to contribute to us, I'm honored and flattered. Thank you for considering Playworks.

We're actually coming up on our big fundraising event of the year, the Walk for Recess. I have my own fundraising page for it with a rather modest goal that I may just need to raise.

If you're willing to look, here is the link: https://donate.playworks.org/fundraise?fcid=605193

.Since this thread was started, I thought I would resurrect the poem (which I will give reference to at the end) that was about Bobcat Dragon, one of the best Ozone fans to ever stalk the sidelines. You will notice past players names as this incident happened several years ago. Feel free to add any reminiscences if you were there and witnessed the event.

The outlook was brilliant for the Bobcat team that day
The score stood 48 to 31 with one more half to play.
But then when Boyer stole a pass, and Gamble did the same,
a sickly silence fell upon the patrons of the game.

A straggling few got up to go for hot dogs a that point,
the rest sat in the stands around that hallowed, sacred joint.
The thought, if only Bobcat Dragon could yell some lusty cheers,
what happiness it would bring, to faithful listening ears.

But Allen slipped and missed a shot, and Orr then did the same,
one a guard and one a forward playing in the game.
And in the Ozone multitude grim turnover visions sat,
for there seemed a good chance Bobcat hopes might go flat.

But Leon let a two pointer soon swish into the net,
and Walther’s three surely was as good as it can get.
And Convo cheers from rafters echoed sounding like a laugh,
just two minutes thus remained in that first colossal half.

Then from 5,000 throats or more there rose a Bobcat yell;
It rumbled through the concourse, it rattled oh so swell.
It bounced of Beefalo’s bench and recoiled by the band,
For the ref had made a call that all could see was bland.

The call stirred something within the Ozone’s heart,
that caused all fans to react, with a fitful start.
And eyes watched as ref pitched ball to beef to throw,
Bobcat Dragon quickly knew that surely this did blow.

And now the leather-covered sphere into beefs hands did go,
And Bobcat Dragon stood a wondering if things could be this low.
The white and black clad ref close by the Dragon stood,
“I can’t believe you made that call, it surely was no good!”

From the Ozone green with folks, there were some muffled roars,
like the beating of the river wave upon the Hocking’s shores.
“You gotta be kidding me?” some from stands did shout,
for yelling at the game was what it was about.

And upon the painted face of Bobcat Dragon there did grow,
A realization that if nothing said, the game would get too slow.
He yelled quickly to the ref as ball to beef did go;
The ref seemed to ignore it, and game would onward flow.

“No, no bad call!” cried Bobcat faithful there,
and Bobcat Dragon was seen by all, tearing at his hair.
They saw his face grow fervid, they saw him wave his hand,
We knew Bobcat Dragon would make it well all across the land.

A smiles upon the Dragon’s lips, spirit shows upon his face;
What better time to tell the ref that he is way off base.
And now the ref looks Dragon’s way, and his hand is raised,
And now all see the action that leaves few there unamazed.

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
The band is playing green and white and somewhere hearts are light,
and somewhere fans are laughing, and somewhere Bobcats shout;
But there is no joy in Convo land---------mighty Dragon's been thrown out.

Listened to Mike and Mike this morning arguing over the winner. Questioning the contest and arguing the winner NOT being a true sportsfan. I had to laugh as they made jokes about "probably still thinks the Oilers are in Houston", especially funny since that is Drags new home...

I had to send them a letter that in all the years that Dragon was here he was not only in the forefront of the OZone, he also showed a large accumen and many opines toward sports on all fronts from Tennis to FB/BB. N0t sure if there was any of my persuasive speech writing showing through, but I felt compelled to let them know that he was not a hermit survivalist that hates sports

I very randomly heard the discussion on Mike & Mike as well this morning, amazing how much exposure this has suddenly gotten. Their response was predictable...
