Boals leaning on the upperclassmen to get the win. These games are important. The upperclassmen need to step up and play at a higher level. The freshmen haven't earned anything yet. Boals can't put somebody out there than doesn't play defense and turns the ball over. Getting Mitchell back gives them another experienced guard. He missed a lot of time so this team still adjusting. Conference play increase intensity. Its game on and the guys have to be ready. No game is a sure thing in the MAC especially with what we have seen so far with this team. They have beaten the teams below them and haven't really beat any good teams yet. Tonite was a step forward. Got to keep it going.

JSF if they pass the ball or make the shot or got fould it would be good. Rather than any of those we tend to just turn the ball over.
My point is your turnovers are going to go up when you touch the paint and 2-3 defenders are on top of you. Still managed to go 19-32 inside the arc and a positive turnover margin. But yeah, last six minutes or so, drives weren't working. Some of that had to be mental; shots weren't falling and guys started overcompensating trying to get to the rim.

The epitome of just win baby. I have no clue what we were doing in the last five minutes, but they just needed to get out of there with a win and they did.
Give a game ball to #TheUpgrade. Three buckets on three straight possessions in the second half and then a huge screen to set up the PAV three to break it open.
Get the hell out of town and move on. Teams are going to lose in Mount Pleasant this year. CMU won’t shoot that poorly the rest of the season.
All of This right here! Just win on the road. It will count as a W in March!

Overall a solid win. Liked what I saw from Vic in his first MAC game. Clayton struggled offensively but nice on D. Hadaway was awful but he will have those kinds of games. Like what I saw from Sheldon. Agree on Elliott. Would have liked his energy for 5 to 10 mins in this game.

Has anybody mentioned the 40% FT shooting?
Let’s not.

No embarrassment here. Road conference wins are good wins, and I love seeing it earned by defense and toughness. Even the effort on rebounding was there and they gave it a good go against a much taller team.
Yeah, being outrebounded 42-28 is awesome.

I really worry about Searls being our big and only getting ONE board in 21 minutes.

Lazy use of bad stats is not awesome.

Solid, grind-it-out win on the road to begin MAC play.
Nice to AJC/Hadaway contributing on defensive side with 7 combined blocks. Especially, when going 0/6 combined from 3. What an enigma this duo is.
Sheldon’s athleticism is really shining this year.
We’ll have better nights from 3 and would like to see us get to the line more. 10 attempts with a poor night shooting from 3 is not a good recipe on most nights. The 40% FT was weighed by Pav’s 0/4. He was 11 of his last 14 coming into last night, so that was a bit surprising.
On to Buffalo.

CMU actually only played 7 guys.
Jakobi Heady is very very athletic. I think our staff knew about him when he went into the portal from whichever HBCU he was leaving but he committed to CMU so fast, that ship sailed. A quick slashing 6-6 small forward/big guard is always good. What Cornish turned out not to be.

They scored 5 points in the 1st 7 minutes of the 2nd half.
W is a W. Especially on the road.
Let’s move on and never talk about this game again.

I think we better get used to it. Most of the MAC is atrocious, and we're likely to end up one of the best of a very bad bunch. Nights like last night trending more to the norm than the aberration.
