CAA released its full schedule today. I wonder how long before the MAC follows suit? It can't be too long.

Apparently the Bryant hoops teams are in Italy on a trip, and one of Tim's assistants was interviewed on one of Boston's network affiliates about their experiencing yesterday's earthquake, which would have happened shortly after that twitter post. No injuries but a lot of frayed nerves.

Man, we're going to beat them by 30. That's life on the road!

Seriously though, I'm glad it's on a Saturday as that becomes a game I can circle ahead of time. I can only make it out to Athens once or twice a year for basketball. It would be nice if Tim were given some PA recognition.

Also means the return of Frankie Dobbs as well. I believe both Frankie and his father are assistants for TOS.

Here is what I could find on the schedule. Last year we had 12 OOC games so we are still missing about 3.

NOV
Southern 11/12
@ Georgia Tech 11/18
@ Marshall 11/30

DEC
Bryant 12/3
UW-Milwaukee 12/14

Date TBD
Sam Houston State
Tennessee Tech
Cleveland State
@ Iona

Update if you were able to find additional information.

I think last year, Ohio played one less game than the maximum.

Question is, what is the maximum? I know they've changed from 16 to 18 conference games, which decreases the number of non-conf games. I always get the exempt tournament stuff confused when trying to think about the typical number of non-conf games.

One thing you can say for TOS is he's not afraid to go up against the big boys. Every year he plays a bunch of powerhouses. This year it's Duke, Georgetown, Providence and Michigan. We got the talent to upgrade our schedule.

I believe teams can play either 29 games straight up or, as most do, play 27 plus a "multi-team event" that can include up to four games. So that basically means a maximum of 31 games. With 18 conference games, that leaves 13 non-conference at most.

I think it's a little more than that, they can sell recruits that they play a tough schedule even though they're in a lesser conference and they want to be associated with those kinds of institutions even if they get thumped. Yale, Duke, Georgetown - pretty good company to keep.

Augh, Trevi Fountain, a nice place to spend a little time. Pretty smart move by Timmy.

It's really helped him build something special at Bryant. In 8 years he's 81-162 with 5 seasons of single digit wins.

Come on, give the guy a break-Bryant is new to D-1. I assume his bosses expected as much.

I am happy for TOS. He's building something and he's back home,in New England. Good for him. I believe we should welcome him back with lots of love and appreciation for that amazing '05 run, featuring Jeremy's flip and Leon's Tip? Without TOS we would not have "what is Buffalo sucks" and "Ohio, Ohio and Ohio". Those are priceless, in my book!

I agree - we should welcome him back. 2005 was A LOT of fun. Also, don't forget, without him, we wouldn't have "That's life on the road in the MAC".

So you're saying that in 7 years at OHIO TOS did win a conference title?

And, yet many don't like him and/or think that he was a mediocre coach.

Nope. Not what I said.

Go sell try and a pet tote to someone, but I bet you can't.

(I bought a cute one on Amazon - maybe if you weren't such a putz, I would have bought it from you?

Oh, El.

You did not buy a pet gear travel bag on Amazon. Because they aren't there. I'm serious; pm me if you need more info on this.

And, thanks for pointing out TOS as a coach who did win a MAC title in his 7 years at OHIO but who many here think was quite mediocre here. Then, you can contrast Solich with no MAC title in 11 years here but who's still largely revered.

Everyone can hate me but you and the SFB cannot deny the different treatment on the MAC title consideration.

[edit: I changed my tag line to reflect pet GEAR travel bag. ]
